I don’t have the courage to be tested by wrathful Bodhisattvas right now. I have offended Vairocana’s lineages.
If it wasn't intentional then it's not bad. Karma is intention! :rolling:

Re: Is it worth it to resist your well-deserved bad karma?

How do you know what your "well deserved bad karma" is to begin with? remorse regarding actions that gave rise to unreasonable pain and suffering that where not understood at the time they occurred yet the causation of which some time after cannot be denied. A father abandoning a child for selfish ...

Re: The hearer and the sound?

Why make hearer, sound, one and not-one? Why not just "woof woof" when a dog barks and that's it? I was asked how to become the barking? Sounds like something my zen teacher would say! Good question! :applause: Shodo Harada Roshi commented on this in his book Moon by the Window This line is from th...

idea of a teacher falling out of his own path is rather funny, since if disciple says so, then it means that he does not need a teacher at all. Not if you find that your teacher is doing something completely inappropriate like taking sexual advantage of women, etc, etc. Then, most everyone can see ...

Re: Scientific Evidence of Higher Realms?

There's no scientific evidence of higher realms, not any that would meet today's stringent standards anyway. However, that doesn't mean it's not scientifically possible. Like Carl Sagan said "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."

I agree. It's quite rude to delete a post and not say anything to anyone about it, especially so when the post does not violate any of the boards rules.

Type 2 diabetes I'm assuming? You should look into Dr Neal Barnard's program for reversing type 2 diabetes with a plant based diet. https://www.amazon.com/Neal-Barnards-Program-Reversing-Diabetes/dp/1594868107 A plant based diet, done correctly, can be quite effective in managing type 2 diabetes. ht...

Re: What is Mount Meru?

Should Mount Meru be taken in literally? It can be, no problem. :D However, since it is a multi-dimensional center, there is no reason to believe it's an actual mountain. But just because that's the case, does not mean it isn't actually real. :D Is it possible to believe in Mount Meru and believe i...

Re: Billionaire donates $100 million to compassion research after conversation with Dalai Lama

Low and behold a conversation with HHDL and this man was ready to support compassion and it wasn't just HHDL presence but his ability to offer reasonable logic as to why it is important for society. Really shows the power the right message can have in opening the minds of others. He's donated a lot...

Re: Billionaire donates $100 million to compassion research after conversation with Dalai Lama

Please help me solve or disprove the below logical conjecture. Accumulation of wealth = selfish hoarding (due to limited money supply to prevent hyper-inflation) => income inequality. Therefore any self-proclaimed rich people are selfish hoarders who do not deserve praise? I suppose it comes down l...

What life circumstances got you interested in the path?
Dukkha. Not the dramatic kind but just a general dissatisfaction with things in general.
And what's your biggest frustration with it?
No frustration with the dharma, the dharma is perfect. :meditate:

Re: Tathagatagarbha and oppresion/social action

According to this author there is in Mahayana Buddhism a tension regarding tathagatagarbha. If everything is already enlightened, why there should be practice? Sounds more like a misunderstanding of tathagatagarbha, rather than an actual doctrine as no doctrine teaches that nothing needs to be done.
