Khorwa Dongtruk in the Nyingma Kahma

Reading Nyoshul Khenpo's - A Marvelous Garland of Rare Gems, I came across this reference to the Khorwa Dongtruk in the Nyingma Kahma. Does anyone know if this sadhana (from the Kahma) has been translated? And if so, where, if possible? Later, Paltrul Rinpoche spent five years near the precious, ens...

Re: Only thirteen buddhafields?

In mahayana there is an inmeasurable number of nirmanakaya and sambhogakaya buddhafields, but in dzogchen there are only thirteen buddhafields (zhing khrams) is this correct? As far as I understand, there are thirteen buddhafields where Dzogchen teachings exists, not thirteen in all. Actually it is...

Re: Episodic memory and oneness

From what I understand, the stains of the alaya vijnana are always there until Buddhahood, even during the realization of shunyata during the journey through the bhumis. There are many teachings going into depth on how the teachings work at this level. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eight_Consciousne...

Re: Looking for Thangka of Longchen Nyingthig Refuge Tree

The other thing you can do is find a good quality high resolution image and find an outlet that prints on to canvas or vinyl then does the traditional brocade around it. There are now many places to do this, they even do the gold outlining on the image if you want. It makes a traditional thangka mor...

Re: Doing Vajrayana practices for the dead of other religions

I asked Ngakpa Karma Lhundup Rinpoche about this, and he said to do Chenrezig practice for the dead. In fact there is a special Chenrezig practice in the Choling Tersar which is for those that have passed. I have also read somewhere, where, I think it might have been Tulku Urgyen who said, Don't go ...

Re: Trungpa and shamata

I heard recently that Chogyam Trungpa was the first teacher in the tibetan tradition to encourage group silent sitting. Is this so? Trungpa says in his 6 part teaching on Jamgon Kongtrul of Shechen, that this was the first practice he was taught by his guru. There is this practice of shamatha vipas...

Re: Garchen Nyingtig Yabshi Germany 2018 Questions

When someone asked Tulku Pema Wangyal about the benefits of this transmission... he said... the benefits will appear during one's journey in the bardo. I don't mean to sound dismissing, but when I hear someone tell me that the benefits of a given practice will be reaped during bardo - I am not inte...

Re: Amulet from Acharya Dawa Chhodak Rinpoche

I have a few such amulets for protection when travelling. I remember the original instructions were to never put them on the ground or floor, or anywhere disrespectful, as they will loose their power. I store mine on my shrine in a special small pouch. Otherwise, put them to good use and wear them r...

Re: Garchen Nyingtig Yabshi Germany 2018 Questions

It's good to receive this empowerment if you are practicing anything in the Nyingma dzogchen. In fact, when this was given by Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche in 2004 Tulku Pema Wangyal told everyone to tell all their Dharma friends to drop everything and come and receive this, because, until current times,...

Re: Empowerment question Krodha Kali / Dudjom Tersar

I never heard anyone, except you, say this. Do you have a source for this? /magnus Well, Ayang Rinpoche mentioned this in a retreat. Bakha Tulku reaffirmed it when he gave us the Guhyagarbha empowerment, since I asked him about it. Maybe I don't understand but are you saying that if you have the Sh...

Re: The Aro Authenticity Debate.

I've looked through these pages, and what surprises me is that no one has referenced or used the criteria expressed in "Hidden Teachings of Tibet: an explanation of the Terma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism" / Tulku Thondup Rinpoche. Maybe I'm completely missing the point. Also, in that text, I forget...

Re: The Future

IMHO Dharma practice is hard work, and facing a lot of things that aren't really that attractive. But that's just me. When it comes to really working on yourself... it doesn't surprise me few people are interested... I have enough aversion to practices as it is. :soapbox: There's more and more reaso...

Re: Confused about nature of mind introduction

I sat in front of Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche for 3 months receiving initiations, transmission (including direct introduction) and teachings, and nothing happened to me consciously. It was only later as I practised that I think anything arose out of that experience. :namaste: :namaste: :namaste:

Gyalwang Drukpa on Self-immolations

I spent one whole day in Tatopani in Sindhupalchok, the worst affected area in the April 2015 earthquake, where 300 of Sengdrak Rinpoche's nuns and yoginis lost their homes, many thousands lost their lives and many more lost their beloved ones. I was quite happy to see that rebuilding process is tak...

Re: On the Root guru

In my own case, I started doing my ngon.dro not knowing who my root guru was, but I felt it had to be someone who was reasonably fluent in English so I could converse with them. By the time I'd got to Guru Yoga, HH Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's presence became foremost in my mind. So my criteria went ou...

Re: Choral version of Seven Line Prayer

My question is "Would such a version of the Seven Line Prayer invoke Dorje Tho Threng Tsal"? I don't know. Probably. Best of luck. Well, it would depend on the minds of the people doing the singing or listening. I doubt that Dorje Tho Threng Tsal is a snob. Well, maybe Shakya Sengé or Pema ...
