Re: Barry Graham: The Fraud-iest Zen Fraud
@lobster: Its called "information." Some people find it useful. If your judgement that someone who outs frauds in an attempt to alert people is superior to a pathological liar, ok, call it like you see it. There sure seem to be a lot of cyber-Buddhists here, and elsewhere; in other words p...

Re: Barry Graham: The Fraud-iest Zen Fraud
there is a condition known as being "willfully obtuse." Or refusing to see a forest for its trees... And I'm glad the original post is amusing, even if the situation is pretty unfortunate. Especially for the series of women, including his ex wife, who've apparently filed orders of protecti...

Re: Barry Graham: The Fraud-iest Zen Fraud
That presupposes someone is actually even a teacher, authorized in some way. Again, this guy isn't. But yes, Kunga Lhadzom, he wanted it badly enough to fabricate a vast web of lies to convince others he was one. He didn't, however, care enough about Buddhism or self-knowledge to actually submit him...

Ok, we'll just leave it at "dangerously ignorant" then.

Re: Barry Graham: The Fraud-iest Zen Fraud
Oh boo-hoo...aren't we all the same Nobodys ? All is equal. Equanimity. Empty. He's a great teacher !!!!!!! I'm just hoping that this response is sarcastic. Because it sure doesn't have anything to do with Buddhism. It does sound however like an accurate imitation of the Nihilists in The Big Lebows...

Barry Graham: The Fraud-iest Zen Fraud
"Barry Graham" is the alias of a 46 year old Scottish national who declares himself a famous writer, journalist, and "Zen Master." After living in Arizona for a number of years, he recently moved to Portland, Oregon. Based on outrageous and totally ignorant claims about having be...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
As for "outing" anyone, I think if I, as a poster, have suspicion due to their abusive, negative commentary and obstructive behavior, that happens to perfectly echo that of the figure (according to their activity) they joined this site with the express purpose to defend, then I have a righ...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
Not to digress too far, but how anyone in this time can still think that one "perfects oneself" through practice, when you have 1000's of years of teaching telling us that isn't the point, well, it just shows how far we have to go. "perfect understanding" is knowing that there is...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
And my goodness, we are talking about Zen here people - we are all Lords and Ladies Buddha, and we are all totally ordinary. THIS is the message of the Lotus Sutra, Dogen, Linji, the whole tradition. Let's try not to pretend we're suffering from the delusions of ages past, that every turn of the whe...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
Just to say that deweyboy's comments now echo even more clearly Paul Lynch's in other forums - jingoistically invoking "the USA"as some kind of standard, bad use of latin, referring to anonymous posters as "missy" (which is highly obnoxious, btw), snarky evasion, slinging dirt on...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
Dewey, you can't spell; can you not read either? Lynch's own friend Adam Tebbe "has written Bob Moore about the situation, and was told by Moore's senior student and Ji Do Poep Sa Nim that Mr. Moore is in poor health and finds this situation too distressing to comment further on." You tena...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
Asked about this letter by someone on Facebook, Paul Lynch didn't deny it (there or elsewhere at other times); he just said "there's a backstory that my loyal [read "dues-/homage-paying"] students already know, and since you aren't one I don't have to tell you. Have a nice life."...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
Could you explain who gave him the name "Wonji Dharma"? Why does it conflate different languages? What happened to "Yuánzhì", that he used for about two years, along with the title "chanshi"? Can you explain why he used that name and title, and who gave them to him, and...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
This would all be so simple if anyone would actually address the questions. Instead, it's games and fictions - which is what Paul Lynch does, after all. And if you'd read as many Paul Lynch cut downs and defenses as I have, tracking him online, you'd know his signature style as well as I do.

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
Bodhidharma taught his monks martial arts to deal with Highway men. Cyberbullies and bullies in general need to be confronted. I am an unaffiliated Buddhist. I used to be Soto Zen. I came across this thread and recognized a bully. This guy's mouth is a weapon. He is a bully. He could be civil and k...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
Again, Charama's arguments are "we are swell people. Trust me. That jishan guy is obviously just mean, so why bother to answer his questions." He doesn't address a single point I have now made a nauseating number of times. Also, you see a lot of the ways in which Zen teaching gets abused t...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
love that. That is exactly why I waded into this mess. We've all been on the outside looking in. And then maybe on the inside looking out, trying to get a fuller perspective on a sangha, a teacher; or even our own sangha or teacher. Let there be light.

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
"I think this thread could use less hyperbole and more facts. What's really going on here?" hear, hear. But c'mon. We're never going to get a straight answer out of these people. Can't everyone see that? They are showing you how they behave. Here. Evasion, puffery, false piety, passive agg...

Re: Five Mountain Zen Order & Paul Lynch
Again, passive aggressive ad hominems. "aw. me so sorry you are hurting from your delusive anger. You are hopeless, therfore it is pointless to answer your questions." Classic. This is how new age so-called Buddhists attacks their critics. You see it all the time. Totally lame. Tired and c...
