Re: The Origin Of Tibetan Singing Bowls

Practical knowledge, I'd say yes, it's all there. But the transmissions needed to actually practice, you'd have to ask the center. They don't do online empowerments. What does the course description say? OK, suppose I take the online course in Red Garuda practice at the Yerubon site. Will I have eno...

Re: The Origin Of Tibetan Singing Bowls

Yes, thank you Malcolm. it's an entirely different kettle of fish. I have a singing bowl that came from the estate of a high Sakya lama, an abbot, who brought it out of Tibet in the 1950's. It is hand carved, crudely, rough, not polished, not pretty, not commercial. Rather ugly, really. It was used ...

Re: The Origin Of Tibetan Singing Bowls

About the center, there is one Lama there and he has a monastery in Nepal? where he spends most of his time, and visits the center for a couple months each year, prior to covid. Since covid he has been stuck here in the U.S. He is basically selling teachings ABOUT the teachings. He is not giving you...

Re: Being on the high bhumis without knowing?

"Realization", as a word, has been so over used and misused. In the Buddhist context, what does it mean, are there synonyms? I'm trying to get past my hindu/new age imprints. And what is the difference between Recognition and Realizing? If one has Recognized, then what? Recognition...

Re: Milarepa's famous mudra

I know Gachen Rinpoche has taught on this and demonstrated it, but its been too long ago and I don't know where to find that video. So I have the empowerment and lung for that practice and lots of teachings, just need a short clue as in, if your Lama gave you that image of Milarepa without comment, ...

Help with a mantra/ Are you numb??

Last week Chokyi Nyima's students had a virtual birthday party for him online. One of the offerings is a mantra that they did not write out...it sounds like : Om Lama rang nee, gee oom daye soha. Does this sound familiar to anyone? You can hear it here: https://dharmasun.org/birthday/ It starts at 1...

Re: Looking for H.H. Khenchen Lama Rinpoche's students

My impression having followed him on Facebook the last several months: He loves his students. He cares. He is a serious practitioner himself. There is no big organization between him and his students. He reads the responses/posts on his facebook pages. You can 'friend' him and contact him through Me...

Re: After Recognition of Nature of Mind...

I think there is a lot to parse, such as whether what you mean as recognition is the same thing as Garchen Rinpoche means as recognition. You might be talking about a glimpse, and he may talking about the first Bhumi. I have not heard other teachers say that once you have had an initial recognition...
