Re: theravadabuddhist doesnt get real enlightenment
as an example, if i ever see a tiger who wants to kill a monk because the tiger is hungry for food to appease its baser instincts, then i would have no hesitation in killing the tiger immediately without hatred or pity.. because to let the tiger eat a monk, a monk who wants no other objective in lif...

Re: theravadabuddhist doesnt get real enlightenment
While there are mentions of "wrathful" emanations that are used to wipe away ignorance & delusion, I think you should probably look at the stories in the sutras for some good examples... For starters, it's interesting to note that in the story, the Buddha did not go head to head &...

Re: theravadabuddhist doesnt get real enlightenment
the dalai lama only preaches peace.. he doesn't preach enlightenment.. peace is a totally different thingy from enlightenment.. and what is enlightenment but the ultimate inner peace? there are many shamans and monks who use their samadhi to chase away and eliminate demons, evil spirits and malevol...

Re: theravadabuddhist doesnt get real enlightenment
I don't ever recall the Dalai Lama saying theravada buddhist doesn't get real enlightenment. What he is saying IMO, is that selfish people don't get real enlightenment, which is quite reasonable to say. :) really? plenty of "selfish" yogis have achieved enlightenment compared to the "...

Re: theravadabuddhist doesnt get real enlightenment
He means practicing a path for ones own gain and not helping other people. Plenty of Theravada Buddhists do Bodhisattva work helping other people. And plenty of Mahayana Buddhists are selfish and only after personal gain and vica versa. This is what we call the human condition. I'm a Mahaya...

Re: theravadabuddhist doesnt get real enlightenment
dalai lama has said that own enligthenment for just oneself isnt real enligthenment. Why´s that`? the dalai lama is just another human being and you can't expect any human to be totally right all the time.. one achieve enlightenment for his own sake and not for any other person's sake.. the dalai l...

Re: Accepting Attachments/Household Life
ethics is nothing more than a manifestation of a dual mind
what is good? what is evil? are they not concepts conjured up by a dual mind?
in the eyes of a truly enlightened mind, nothing is truly good or evil...

Re: Accepting Attachments/Household Life
It is the duty and responsibility of those unenlightened ones who wish to remain in samsara to suffer for the enlightened ones who wish to remove themselves from samsara.

Re: Will Buddhism become redundant?
I guess when everyone is a Buddha it will be kind of redundant. We'll all be sitting around chatting like this: BobtheBuddha: Remember the good old days? All those glorious struggles, the epic successes and the glorious defeats? BorattheBuddha: Yes I remember them perfectly actually. It was awful. ...

"Ethical" or "Moral" conduct has nothing to do with realization of consciousness.

Re: Detachment vs. Antisocial Personality Disorder
When reading sutras and other Buddhist writings, we learn about being detached from things, people, events, etc. as an antidote to attachment. It almost seems as if we are supposed to be emotionless robots. Sometimes, particularly early in our practice, we may practice "detachment" a litt...

Re: Accepting Attachments/Household Life
Why are most spiritual seekers alone on the path to Enlightenment and Liberation? Because the karma of other unenlightened beings will present themselves as obstacles on seekers' paths especially your family, spouse and children which represent the rocks in a backpack while climbing a mountain. One ...

Re: Why Spiritual Countries have more Suffering/Demons?
There are both white and dark magick lodges in this world. Black Lodges work for their own material and spiritual advancement. White Lodges work for the advancement and evolution of mankind. They receive their instructions directly from the higher dimensional gods. Examples of white magick lodges in...

Re: Will Buddhism become redundant?
As science uncovers more and more aspects of the truth, religous ideas became redundant. For instance, when the principle behind lightning was understood, the god of lightning became irrelevant. When epilepsy was understood, demonic possession became an unnecessary explanation. The God of Lightning...

What is Man's True Objective in Life?
For the past few thousand years, Man has always strived to be a master of the 3D material dimension. But instead of being a master of just the lowest dimension in existence, why don't Man learn to be a master of ALL DIMENSIONS?! As above, so below as they say. When will Man realize that whatever out...

Re: Will Buddhism become redundant?
Thanks for the replies. Before science gave us the washing machine, we had to depend on our arms and legs ... involved a lot of effort and sweat to get things done. Now we have to depend on our will ... expend a lot of effort to be mindful. But once technology ... well, you get the idea. Buddhism c...
