Re: How do you know when a friendship is over?

When a friend keeps overstepping your boundaries even though you ask him/her not to, and it's really painful to you, it's time to distance yourself. Doesn't necessarily mean you have to completely break up with that person, but if you've met with that friend once a week, maybe turn it down to once i...

Re: Readability of Usernames

well, if you'd actually bother to read my opening post, you would notice that it applies to usernames in Kyrillic, Greek, or Tibetan characters as well: ...my suggestion is: could people with usernames that are not in the English alphabet add a transscription to their name? besides, I'm neither whin...

Re: Readability of Usernames

I don't know if this discussion about Simon's motives has anything to do with me, so I'm keeping out of it. To avoid misunderstandings I'd like to make clear that all I'm asking is that people with usernames in other than the english alphabet add an english transscription to their username . That sh...

Re: Readability of Usernames

Yes, like Simon said, it has nothing to do with real names. Neither did I say anything against usernames in Asian characters. And of course it's not inevitable or something I can't live with. It's just a matter of politeness.

Readability of Usernames

Hi all, so there are some users with usernames in Asian characters, which is perfectly fine, but, being unable to read these characters, - I don't know how to address you, (of course I can copy&paste your name, but I still have a feeling I don't know your name) - and if there are more it will be inc...

Thanks, Terma, I should have thought about that! You're right, it looks very well edited, so my paper version is available.

Re: Beginner Practice Books?

Is the kindle version well edited? (I'm asking because I recently fell for a kindle "ebook" that had the text as low resolution scanned images :( ) I prefer ebooks, too. If anyone would like to have my paper book I'd be happy to give it away for the price of the kindle version plus shipping costs. I...

Re: my local Karma Kagyu center is closed cult?

Why my local Karma-Kagyu's center chooses to isolate its members like a cult? Ole Nydahl is highly controversial, even among the followers of Karmapa Thaye Dorje. If you want to practice in the Karma Kagyu lineage go look for other centers and teachers. Shamar Rinpoche's Bodhipath centers have alre...

Re: Veganism is an Eating Disorder

Anyway, if you can spend the rest of your life more or less in solitary retreat, and start eating fruitarian as to eventully graduate to living on breath & sunshine; then by all means do it. I doubt that this is impossible. Please don't spread this living on light theory. People have already died t...

Re: Veganism is an Eating Disorder

I cook for people and make nice foods for them no matter what my relationship to them. I would love to have a neighbour who appreciates vegan food. Too bad you're not my neighbour  PS: Truth be told I'm not even vegetarian, but I try to reduce my consumption of meat and animal produc...
