Re: Troma nagmo and rainbow body

I don't understand why one will need trekchod and togal to attain rainbow body. The chinese site reported that a Nyingma lama who refused to practice any other methods other than mandala offering has attained rainbow body. If they attained rainbow body they were practicing trekcho and/or thogal. Pe...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Rinpoche always emphazised quality to be more much more important than quantity, maybe that's why he asked so few time of application (few counts), however, this tells me that it depends more on each one's capacity that in a predeterminated amount of time or repetitions. he said like if one is in p...

Re: Kusali of Longchen Nyingthig Ngongdro?

Hey y'all, I'm wondering about the Kusali Chod section of the Longchen Nyingthig Ngondro. Is this something one needs to have an empowerment for? Or can one simply receive the lung for the Ngondro? I saw another post on Dharmawheel here elaborating that one does not use the Kangling, Damaru, and Be...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

I have a Lama I can ask for basic instruction in a thing like that, but i'm not sure that would help with the specific way to use it with the Tuns and Ganapuja, would it? I think Josef likely meant practice with DC members to learn how it’s done in the DC (which one presumes is how Rinpoche did it,...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

What is the best resource to become familiar with using the damaru and the mudras for the medium and long tun? I mean they are in the text, but there's a lot of guesswork if that's all I use. The best way to learn how to use the damaru is by practicing in a group. I have a Lama I can ask for basic ...

Re: Dzogchen // Middle Way

Quick question: Is Dzogchen contemplation (e.g. Norbu Rinpoche's guru yoga) a "middle way" between recognizing versus not recognizing an object? By recognition, I mean reacting to a sense impression of the object with a conscious (even an inner linguistic) affirmative cognition — like, "this is my ...

Does anyone have the Black Manjusri mantra? If so I’d greatly appreciate a pm with any info or texts.
Thanks!

This is definitely an event to attend if one is able. This is a powerful practice to receive from the supreme lineage holder.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Doesn't know anyone know if the practices in these two Amitayus books are the same? I have transmission for the first one and was wondering if it would be ok to get the second one as it has a detailed commentary by Rinpoche. 1 , 2 I've tried contacting the ShangShung people but have yet to hear bac...

Re: Dharma Transmissions at Shechen Monastery 2019

A friend of mine asked about this in the few months away told they don’t have the time for yeshe lama. Which makes sense It actually doesnt make sense. The Yeshe Lama empowerment and the text itself is quite short. The only reason to exclude it is to restrict the thogal practice manual from the tra...

Re: question on distingushing mind from it's nature

Could be a Mahamudra question too: Once a person begins to have some confidence in distinguishing mind from it's nature, is there any particular point in working with conventional thoughts and appearances in meditation anymore, rather than simply resting in the nature of mind? Is it now time to exa...

Re: Dharma Transmissions at Shechen Monastery 2019

Is there an empowerment for yeshe lama? Yes, it is in the book in the beginning of the Tögal section. However, there is nothing indicating that he will give that. If I understand correctly he will give the empowerments from the root volumes of the LN, not all empowerments from LN. https://www.rigpa...

Re: Further abuses in Shambhala revealed in new statement from former Kusung

The current Trungpa R. was born on the other side of the globe. I think he’s still in eastern Tibet doing things the old fashioned way. Kinda hard to lead Shambhala that way. Erm. Ok. So he was offered and rejected the leadership? Lots of Lamas are able to run an international org from a distance w...

Re: Simhamukha Retreat @ Tara Mandala, May 19-27

Personally I could afford going to Tara Mandala or place like that but that would be once or max twice a year. With lower rates I can join a retreat almost every month. More examples: 4 day retreat with James Low, incl. meals, camping and teachings: 180BP/236.64 usd 14 days with Keith Dowman in Spa...

This isn’t really unique.
Tulku recognition and various titles often amount to little more than publicity. This is nothing new.
