I got a bit lost. It seems like they skipped a couple sections.

Can someone confirm that there is no transformation in this sadhana?

Re: Tibetan Yogis

Whether or not one is a yogi is dependent upon the individual. the guy merely ask which school still has highest number of yogis in their tradition in Milarepa way. perhaps we got our "yogi" definition different. to me a yogi if we speak of vajrayana yogi is the one who practice yogas, ie do work o...

I'm asking because I want to know which lineage has the biggest emphasis on the tradition of yogis.

Re: Learning Dzogchen online

How strange. One doesn't even have to have taken refuge to take an empowerment, since refuge is given in the course of the empowerment. Were those registrations for Nyingma empowerments? Ummmmm... Every at single empowerment I have been to (Nyingma and Kagyu) there has been an "official" Refuge cer...

Re: Vajrakilaya Practice

No one ever said you could practice sadhanas without empowerment and guidance. I certainly didn't. What I did say, is that if you are INTERESTED, you can read a little about the practice in question via these books. Genuine interest can be a doorway. As a wiseman once said, we are entitled to our o...

Re: Vajrakilaya Practice

Just as Malcolm has said. I myself would not even attempt to practice those sadhanas without personal instruction from a teacher at first or without an experienced practitioner who could lead me through. Makes things so much easier. When it comes to books about it ... I do not see much point in rea...

Re: Vajrakilaya Practice

Thanks all! To be fair, there are texts you can purchase that are available to the public. Like; The Practice of Vajrakilaya, The Dark Red Amulet: Oral Instructions on the Practice of Vajrakilaya, etc. If you're interested you can read these. Of course, in order to actually engage in practice and g...

Hi everyone,

Is there a Vajrakilaya practice that does not require empowerment? Additionally, are there any texts describing Vajrakilaya that do not require permission/empowerment for study?

Thank you!!
No.

Re: Mipham Rinpoche's termas

He probably saw the pitfalls of ever new termas. I dont think it was about pitfalls. More likely Mipham was giving reverence and homage to the earlier revelations that clearly have enough to keep sincere practitioners satisfied and lead to liberation. I think Mipham was going off on people's taste ...

Anyone know the name and contents of Mipham Rinpoche's terma cycle? The nature of it, ie Sa ter or gong ter, etc?
Mipham was more of a pure vision composer of liturgical texts than a terton.

Re: Guru yoga for longchen?

In the meantime you can recite prayers like this one. Prayer to Longchenpa (Adapted from the Words of Mipham Rinpoche) by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche The primordial and spontaneous nature of luminous awareness Is unchanging and of one-taste with all the victorious buddhas. To you who have perceived this...

Thank you.
yes, but this isnt really the place.
What can be discussed?
In my opinion its not worth having any discussions of these practices with anyone other than ones guru or vajra siblings in a private setting.

How would you translate this?

I have a document that translates it as:

If you see shapes and colors you have strayed from rigpa's presence.

This translation seems to be missing something to me. Any insight would be appreciated.

It’s common for empowerments to be given without a lung.
What about the mantra? Isn't that usually given during the empowerment?
Yes, the mantra is transmitted in the empowerment.

Re: Lung always given at time of empowerment?

So of course nowadays I know that yidam practice functions in dependence on not only wang, but also lung and tri. But once upon a time I didn't know that, so if the lung hadn't been given I wouldn't have even known what I was missing, and now I want to practice some of the sadhanas from those early...
