Re: Troma Nagmo

That’s not the same as the Ganden transmission, which is a part of an entirely different lineage. Nor is it a Troma empowerment. That is not the point. To spell it out, I have the Ganden transmission which uses Troma Nagmo. I am wondering if I've had contact with this Dakini in any other way. I ask...

That is not the point. To spell it out, I have the Ganden transmission which uses Troma Nagmo. I am wondering if I've had contact with this Dakini in any other way. I asked about Garchen la's Chod empowerment because there was no sadhana given and I don't remember the details. I don't remember ChNN...

Re: Troma Nagmo

No, I'm not. I know he gave a Chod empowerment in Europe but I don't remember where or any details about it. It was several years ago. I have the Ear Whisper Chod transmission. That’s not the same as the Ganden transmission, which is a part of an entirely different lineage. Nor is it a Troma empowe...

Re: How to NOT annoy the guru?

Just ask him, genuine practice questions about your issues will please him, it's all in your head about annoying your guru in my experience. Before you ask him, think about it though, how have you angered the nagas? Wrong days, some pretty unreasonable requests to curse rivals/enemies, reciting man...

Re: Troma Nagmo

No, I'm wondering if Garchen Rinpoche has ever given a Troma Nagmo empowerment online since 2012. No, not that I have heard of nor participated in. You're also seeking a transmission that is outside his lineage. No, I'm not. I know he gave a Chod empowerment in Europe but I don't remember where or ...

I've never heard of a geluk lama giving a troma empowerment
They dont really.
The chod just includes Troma visualization etc.
The Ganden Chod transmission is what the op is actually seeking.

Re: How to NOT annoy the guru?

How is cursing rivals and having enemies Buddhist? You should read more. There are plenty of Buddhist tantras giving spells and advice how to curse, kill etc. Of course, successful application presumes you are indeed a practitioner of the tantric vehicle. Which presumes you have the right view as w...

Re: About requesting initiation

Circumstances count as well.
For example, when my teacher mentions that there is an auspicious connection to a certain practice, I request it for our sangha.

It might be better to wait for an appropriate opportunity to make this request.

The one that is part of the Ganden Ear Whisper Chod.
You're going to need a Gelug lama for that most likely.

So how does one NOT annoy their guru exactly when one has many questions(whether it be over practices, understanding the teachings, etc.) and their guru is busy? Anyone?
By cultivating bodhicitta and following his/her instructions.

Has Garchen Rinpoche ever given an online empowerment of Troma Nagmo?
Not that I know of.
He has given Vajrayogini though.
Which Troma Nagmo are you interested in?

Re: Dharmapalas and Consorts

Some Dharmapalas, like Za Rahula, have consorts. Is this common, and does it indicate a level of enlightenment as opposed to being wordly? that class doesn't have females, so to me it indicated power, dominion, superiority, etc. it is part of the retinue. Where did you get the idea that there arent...

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

I think i will stick with ChNNR's advice thanks.Good luck on you teaching venture. ChNNR has taught on all these points, so from my side I don't see any contradiction. It is some of "The important preliminaries" list that i never heard Rinpoche teach giving that title. He teaches them at every retr...

Re: Protections

According to Rinpoche, the best way to empower something is through the state of contemplation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WGirMxEkjo Kevin... I love these videos of the Master. The integration with the realities of our circumstances and the teachings is fully present always. Thank you for po...

Re: Protections

Yes, also that's the precise reason why i want to do very precise things in a precise way 🙏 Bodhicitta accomplishes both. Your answer made a bownce in my head, i think i understand what you meant but that's falacious, i must say. I mean, intentions is not relative boddhicita, is only half of it, be...

Re: refuge tree visualisation

Josef, I don't disagree yet again but all I'm saying is that not everyone teaches or instructs in the manner you have described. This doesn't negate that way of framing things either. I'm not talking about what the guru or refuge is or isn't- all I'm saying is that not everyone will identify as eve...

Re: refuge tree visualisation

All true but for someone just beginning a specific Kagyu Ngondro I'm still not sure how applicable saying look at a picture of your guru is. Especially if they do not already have strong conviction , faith and inspiration in who their root Guru really is beyond the Guru who granted refuge or receiv...

Re: refuge tree visualisation

Good to hear this and all but not so useful for someone practicing a specific Ngondro sadhana. One can do any practice using their guru as the source of refuge. In fact, its the way it works. Whether or not it is simplified or complex, whether it uses a picture or detailed visualization. All true b...
