Re: Troma Nagmo

That’s not the same as the Ganden transmission, which is a part of an entirely different lineage. Nor is it a Troma empowerment. That is not the point. To spell it out, I have the Ganden transmission which uses Troma Nagmo. I am wondering if I've had contact with this Dakini in any other way. I ask...

Re: About requesting initiation

Hi Pael,   It will be much easier and cheaper for you to attend an already organized Vajrasattva empowerment, even if this involves travelling etc..   I am sure that, with strong aspiration prayers and diligent searching, you will find one ! By the way: In which country do you live ? Regards  M Fin...

Re: Dharmapalas and Consorts

Where did you get the idea that there arent female raksha? Where did you get the idea that masculinity is more powerful or "superior" in the teachings or worldly life? Za Rahula have four consorts. /magnus afaik this is a Vajrapani Buddha manifestation in the common form of the so called Gyalpos......

Re: Dharmapalas and Consorts

Some Dharmapalas, like Za Rahula, have consorts. Is this common, and does it indicate a level of enlightenment as opposed to being wordly? that class doesn't have females, so to me it indicated power, dominion, superiority, etc. it is part of the retinue. Za Rahula have four consorts. /magnus

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

""The important preliminaries"Sennin used this title for that list i never heard Rinpoche use it for that list. No shit,Rinpoche teaches on many subjects but he does not give them all the title ""The important preliminaries" If there is one thing that resounds in my head is hearing ChNN saying in e...

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

I think he is talking about preliminaries after direct introduction. Shouldn't they be called postliminaries then? http://dhammawheel.com/download/file.php?id=2654&sid=234a354480f0e25eb2cb75b2f3be4e1a Not really. There are preliminaries for accumulating merit and wisdom and various preliminaries to...

Re: Dharmapalas and Consorts

Some Dharmapalas, like Za Rahula, have consorts. Is this common, and does it indicate a level of enlightenment as opposed to being wordly? Yes, pretty common and no I don't think it indicate a level of enlightenment because for example Lha Chenpo is almost always depicted with his consort. https://...

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

As far as I know he teaches in accordance with Garab Dorje - that DI comes first, THEN other practices for the removal of doubt etc. ''We do these kinds of practices to be 100% sure of our real nature. '' https://dzogchentoronto.wordpress.com/2010/08/23/chnn-on-garab-dorjes-three-statements/ I neve...

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

How in the world can anyone receive a DI that early? It can be done at any time. For example in the Vajradhatu centers Trungpa gave direct introduction to all before starting the Ngöndro. Mingyur Rinpoche do the same in his "Path of liberation". These are both a very organized examples from the Kag...

Re: Dzogchen and Mahamudra: differences and similarities

Garchen Rinpoche also gives Ganges Mahamudra instructions online via live stream. Indeed. In fact, this coming June 30 – July 1 Garchen Rinpoche will be offering pith instruction on the Ganges Mahamudra. Don't know if it will be live streamed, but I'm guessing it will. I received this teaching from...

Re: refuge tree visualisation

I’ve been doing this for some weeks or so. I’ve realised it took me almost 1 hour plus to do it ( plus the stress and breathing stress when visulaising the tree ). I would like to ask all of you how do you personally visualise the tree? Because I try to do a perfect clean clear visulisation of all ...

Re: Dzogchen and Mahamudra: differences and similarities

Is it correct that Dzogchen starts off with DI and develops on the basis of that whereas Mahamudra offers a gradual part in which the guru is NOT directly and unmistakenly showing the nondualist view to the student? No, it is not correct to say this. Is guru in mahamudra giving sorts of DI like in ...

No, there are traditions of DI in Mahamudra too. Ganges Mahamudra, for example. Or ...

Right now, Tibetan monastics have employment status. They are granted income, bank account, car, mobile phone, pension.
What? No, they don't.

Re: Online Ngondro programs

No, there are also webinars and instructors you can email. Yes, I meant that it also has many other things. I did t...

Re: Western Monastic - reasons why she left

Hi, sorry about the strange title. But here is an interesting article http://thetattooedbuddha.com/2018/06/14/im-a-western-monk-this-is-why-i-left-the-tibetan-tradition/ What do you think about this. I would be quite interested where this happened. I cannot quite imagine this (leaving a monk withou...

Re: Online Ngondro programs

I already know of the programs by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche (though not really a ngondro program as it is much longer and includes other things), and Mingyur Rinpoche. I was wondering if there are also other good ngondro programs of this kind. There is a Ngondro in the Tripple Excellence program. It co...
