Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

I got a bit lost. It seems like they skipped a couple sections. Can someone confirm that there is no transformation in this sadhana? DS yes, in the anuyoga way. this sadhana is a bit different from the booklet, but you can find it in the resources section in the same page as the webcast is. When do...

Re: empowerment for Dudjom Tersar Ngondro

Then that would be the Longsal Vol 3 book: http://shangshung.org/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=327 No, for some reason it isn't available there, you have to go here, and also make an account to see it: https://shop.shangshungfoundation.com/en/ It is called "The Crucial Prelimin...

Re: empowerment for Dudjom Tersar Ngondro

When I asked at Saraha, a few people said I could practice it with no anything. But then others say one needs the lung. I suspect it was one of those "get it when you can but you can practice without it if you can't" type things...but I would rather just have the lung. I had an opportunity to get i...

DS
Which sadhana?
Green Tara from current webcast.
Of course there is transformation, visualisation, in a Tara practice.

Re: Requirements to qualify as a mind-terma?

Still not sure I understand your point. In any case, one of my question is: Are termas always meant to be made public eventually, or is it possible that certain termas are targeted only for a particular tertön and nobody else? That is correct, not all termas become public. Some are for particular p...

Re: Bodhi seed malas

I'm just trying to get term "bodhi seeds" straight. In this article it says: In modern times, ‘Bodhi seeds’ do not refer to any particular plant but instead refer generally to seeds and the fruits of various plants used to make prayer beads. Which would make it a catch all term for any type of plan...

Re: thoughts vs. emotions

For the Mahamudra/Semde instructions which involve looking at the color, shape, coming and going etc. of thoughts, does one practice with what we term "emotions" in the same way? There is no distinction made here between emotion and thought is there? Meaning, if I perceive a jolt of sadness arising...

Re: New Head of Nyingma: Kathok Getse Rinpoche

I don't think lineage head and head cheerleader can really be equated. No offense to cheerleaders. To hold one lineage is already a great responsibility and comes with a lot of supernatural traps if we believe the hagiographies of old. I can just imagine the same applies to the lineage head. Especi...

Re: New Head of Nyingma: Kathok Getse Rinpoche

The first has lots to do with samayas and it is mostly fault of the students if there are breakages and it takes toll on teachers lifespan (unless teacher broke them ofc). I'd say that it is highly irrelevant if he is a head of a lineage or a head cheerleader really. I don't think lineage head and ...

Do a week, with four sessions a day, no internet, TV, music, etc., and minimize contact with others. Imagine that, over more than 3 years.
Does this mean that there are no days off or something like a "weekend" structure in a three-year retreat?
Of course not.

Re: How do we know our practice is working?

So I am sure that this question may be dismissed as "missing the point" by looking for results... I am at least aware of this potential setback. But I am sill naturally wondering how I might know if my practice is having the intended effect. For Dzogchen I am really just doing the Short Thun practi...

Re: Looking for a practise in Chokyi Nyima Rinpoches lineage

A few months ago I had the luck to meet Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche while he was in Europe. Now I would like to start some daily practises that they do in that lineage. Where could I found about such things? When I was there, there was a certain kind of morning practise, I wonder if I could get an PDF/au...

Hi all, in the event that anyone watched all of the Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche talks like I did (live), wow, what a teaching! Hm. My understanding is that the Shambhala terma are Dzogchen teachings and CTR was only teaching (directly) Mahamudra when he was alive. He wanted to teach the Shambhala terma in its entirety but never got to the last book in a "public" setting, which is called Scorpion Seal, which contains the fo...
