Re: Personal account of Shine

Methods exist for a purpose, is not "the only way". If you really think there's a final realization, go ahead. There is only one way to reach the fourth vision, it takes a lot of discipline. In Dzogchen when it is said that it is non-gradual that means that the fruit is introduced at the ...

Re: ChNNR Sinhamukha - longer sadhana in 2013? And name of the Ayu Khandro 's terma?

Khandro Sangdu (Secret Gathering of the Dakinis) is a terma (actually yangter) by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. Ayu Khandro received it from him and gave it to Chögyal Namkhai Norbu. Most probably did Rinpoche use the long text for Singhamukha to teach 2013. It also doesn't necessary have to be a cycle,...

Re: Personal account of Shine

My root guru didn't taught me anything gradual. The ChNN didn't presented atiyoga as gradual. I have no proof for it to be gradual either. On the contrary i have proof it isn't. It has nothing to do with a "step by step" path. The fact that you got instantly enlightened doesn’t show much ...

Re: ChNNR Sinhamukha - longer sadhana in 2013? And name of the Ayu Khandro 's terma?

Hello all yogis and yoginis, 1) LONGER SADHANA Recently I learnt that there is a longer sadhana of Sinhamukha which some of us received from ChNNR. Link of what I mean: [Edit by moderator] I attended the Sinhamukha teaching in March 2013 and my question is whether someone knows if Rinpoche gave us ...

that doesn't make it atiyoga, that's the gradual way of doing things. Who told you that atiyoga cannot be embarked upon as a gradual approach? My root guru didn't taught me anything gradual. The ChNN didn't presented atiyoga as gradual. I have no proof for it to be gradual either. On the contrary i...

Re: Personal account of Shine

Where people disagree is how much you need to do and what “accomplish” means in this regard. Alan Wallace probably has the most extensive definition I’ve heard in that regard. It is worth noting that the Theravedans do not agree on the definition of “accomplishing” the jhanas in their system. There...

Re: Personal account of Shine

...so the idea that shine has to be practiced first and by its own seems a little misplaced, at least from a Dzogchen perspective. I disagree. I think that mindfulness is really important, because if we cannot one-pointedly focus our attention on the object of practice, then the practice will be us...

Re: Personal account of Shine

Why is this in the Dzogchen sub forum? It's the students of Allan Wallace that think that Dzogchen starts with accomplishing Shine. Hmmmm... Well, ALL traditions (Sravakayana, Mahayana and Tantrayana) teach Shine (calm abiding and/or mindfulness), so this topic would be better off in the ge...

1. "He [Guru Rinpoche] did not place termas anywhere else." That's not true. Terma have been revealed in the U.S . and I feel quite certain that more will come. Revealed by whom, and where? Can you provide details? The rest of your contribution was quite on point by the way. Orgyen Kusum ...

Re: Guhyagarbha translation opinions?

I’m very fortunate to be able to start receiving one on one teachings on the Guhyagarbha Tantra from my Lama, specifically Mipham’s commentary, Osel Nyingpo. I’m aware of two main English translations: Luminous Essence from Padmakara and Essence of Clear Light by Sangye Khandro and Lama Chonam. I n...

Re: Prophecies of (Nuclear) World War in 2030 (split)

Well since Karma Dorje and yourself are both senior practitioners then I assume you wouldn't be involved in solidifying views about others whose practice might differ slightly from your own, since an effect of long term dharma practice is to fully rejoice in the amazing display of lineages and mode...

Re: Prophecies of (Nuclear) World War in 2030 (split)

Is this your experience with the senior practitioners you know? If so, that seems sad. In my own interactions with long time practitioners (especially practitioners of dzogchen), as their ability to abide in the nature of mind grows stronger some of them have indicated that they rely less on length...

Re: Prophecies of (Nuclear) World War in 2030 (split)

We seem to be reaching a Protestant crossroads in the transmission of dharma in the West where even senior practitioners that should know better dismiss prayers and the skillful means of tantra as “magical thinking”. This is an enormous mistake imho. Bodhicitta is the engine of our practice. Is thi...

Re: Is it ok to practice Vajrasattva mantra meditation without oral transmission

Hi I would like to finally engage with dzogchen, with the sangha, find a teacher. I am suffering tremendously and I would like to purify my karma and I think it's for time a change, to make that step. Before I go and find a teacher, or master, is it possible or beneficial to practice this mantra? F...

Re: Lung oral transmission

I completely disagree. There might be some tiny bits of Terma on the Base Level, but even there the root is Man ngag lta ba'i phreng ba which is the only Padmasabhava's text in Nyingma Kama. It is not appropriate to get into details though. But it's true the Upadesha levels would be related to term...

It's not just about Longsal, which are marvelous and extremely precious for those who are practicing them, but also Rinpoche's Kama lineage (which is SMS). SMS is full of Terma. Only Semde is what the Nyingma call Kama. I completely disagree. There might be some tiny bits of Terma on the Base Level...
