Re: Preparing for death

I have also heard that completing ngöndro or doing 8 consecutive nyungne's closes the door to rebirth in lower realms. I don't have a textual source to back that up however. Also reciting 1 million (or 5 million?) Guru Rinpoche mantras assures rebirth in his pure land. I mean there's a lot of optio...

Hi Riju! Your devotion to the Louts Sutra and your compassion for beings is very admirable! Of course all the teachings of the Buddha have the single purpose of leading us from common, impure beings to become pure, enlightened beings. This is how the Buddha eliminates suffering in our world. As the ...

See if this helps. Don't worry about AP Chemistry too much. Just tackle it one main idea and problem set that goes with that idea at a time. The test is not until the end of the second semester. If your suicide statement was not excessive teen hyperbole then get professional help immediately. All of...

Re: Studying Uttaratantra Shastra

Hi, I would like to study Uttaratantra Shastra. 1) Can you recommend books about it? 2) If there are online teachings on it, please let us know. 3) I have heard that it is Meireya's fifth book, so 4 previous books must be studied before. What's your opinion on it? 3) As I know, it deals with bhumi ...

Unfortunately he is currently forbidden from teaching in the United States (and has been for years) because of issues that DHS has with classifying people who live in Assam. Hopefully he has been able to teach elsewhere in the past few years. Kirt No, it is because they won’t let him travel with mo...

But surely HHDL does understand human nature..... and reality. He is omniscient wrt Buddhadharma. Human nature - no, not completely because cultures are different and he didn't understand that westerners were capable of self-harm (and in fact the Tibetans ignored there own history of self-harm).
