Re: What are you doing about the coronavirus?

Plus any small business owners out there will tell you they want government ou of their way and not an expanded plan to increase them as your silent partner. Yes, because small businesses hate roads, bridges, electricity, telephones, and the US Post Office. This anti-government rhetoric is e...

Re: What are you doing about the coronavirus?

But I don't really think Biden is electable. The alternative is far worse. Bernie would already be beating him. Instead the elites stuck you with this nag with one foot in the glue factory. The DNC seems to think that business as usual will suffice. The far left is a voter bloc now and without conc...

Re: What are you doing about the coronavirus?

Never underestimate the power of stupid. Put in context, the American people voted for Trump as their let lose Frankenstein monster to smash up the village. Maybe its not that stupid. IDK? regards I recommend you go read Frankenstein (Prometheus Unbound). Dr. Frankenstein's monster was a vi...

Re: Renewable Energy

I do find trying to get my house to net zero incredibly fun. It's definitely not cost effective sometimes though funky tax credits have made some things worthwhile like the triple pane space windows with silver IR reflective coatings. One thing I didn't factor in is comfort. It can be minus 30C and ...

Re: What are you doing about the coronavirus?

I am very confused, more so than ever regarding the corona virus. My state re-opened pretty much everything, including pools, malls, and casinos. I know they have extra rules but still very concerned about this virus spreading more now, than ever. I am still pretty much staying in most of the time,...

Re: What are you doing about the coronavirus?

A couple of thoughts, one is my understanding is a virus is not a living thing, so maybe the choice of wording that it's dead is just a euphemism for inactive. Second is a general observation that if this video made it through the approved censorship firewall, it's been vetted and deemed fit for pu...

Re: What are you doing about the coronavirus?

Also some excellent news that you can't be reinfected and immunity lasts once you are infected. PCR tests were finding dead virus particles in epithelial cells. No one was reinfected or infected anyone else so far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uATMbGK__Tg&t=1140s Frankly, I'm a bit swamped for t...

Re: What are you doing about the coronavirus?

I agree Nemo - neoliberalism is the cause. Interestingly, Australia, under a very conservative govt, basically jettisoned the whole neoliberal caper in one stroke. Doubled unemployment benefits and....well......actually started governing. Haven't seen this since the 90's. I'm sure it will return th...

Re: Renewable Energy

It's getting ridiculous how many people claim to understand how solar is perfect yet they have never done it. I did it for years. It doesn't work for transport or heating. Physics doesn't care about your politics. If it's so easy DO IT. If not stop pontificating.

Re: What are you doing about the coronavirus?

I'm a bit with Dan74 on this: I think the numbers are a really significant demonstration of the oft speculated decline of the Anglo-American age. They show a kind of political-social-economic dysfunction that has been there all along, growing, and is now kind of viscerally visible. The veneer of th...

Re: What are you doing about the coronavirus?

If we are talking about failures then the possibility this was leaked from a lab in China doing gain of function experiments funded by America because it was too dangerous to do at home should be seriously considered. There is no proof it came from a seafood market near the Wuhan Institute of Virol...

Fake news conspiracy paranoia.
CCP is a proven liar. Care to back up your seafood market in January claim with facts?

Re: Alan Wallace: Dzogchen, COVID-19 & the prophecy received by Dudjom Lingpa

You pray to god for a long time, then get the direct introduction? Why not? Plenty of people come to the teachings from other religious backgrounds. So there is a causal link to praying to god and then getting direct introduction? How does that work? Basically Pero, if you go to receive Dzogchen te...

Re: Renewable Energy

Most of ecological activism, not just ecological, is crowded with second intentions, strong ideals and extremism. They fell they have a need to save the planet, and, with a certain hostility against the human race, because they see human nature as a defect, deformed entity, and nature as perfection...

Re: Renewable Energy

Malcolm you do realize those statistics are for generating grid electricity. Alternative energy was great for that 20 years ago and a no brainer today. Making the car go vroom vroom and burning stuff so I don't freeze in winter is 70-85% of my annual usage. That is with a 4cyl Japanese vehicle, a he...

Re: Renewable Energy

I can do it all on renewables except heat and transport. Right. But many of the things I buy, including solar panels, have insanely huge energy inputs and have limited lifespans. Right. I'm getting very tired of their being only 2 allowable views on every subject. That's the price one pays for livi...
