Re: Non-duality in dzogchen

I suppose the issue I have is that there simply isn't a correct conceptual view which accurately describes the ultimate nature. It simply will not fit into a box. The Dzogchen tantras and it's ancillary literature assure us the correct understanding is the triune aspects of wisdom; essence, nature ...

Re: Non-duality in dzogchen

Hi PSM, :namaste: The tantras have established that the basis is ka dag . The Garland of Pearls state: Given that the nature itself is originally pure, the intrinsic nature as well is spontaneously present. Beyond levels, directions, and bias, this is devoid of existing, not existing, or something t...

Re: Who can read Dzogchen books?

I think a classic sacred text like the Precious Treasury of Pith Instructions; man ngag mdzod for example can be read by anyone who has Dzogchen transmission. And since in the colophon the author signs his name as Longchen Rabjam, I think it's correct to designate this text as belonging to the upade...

Re: Guru Longchen Rabjam Drime Ozer

Longchen Rabjam.jpg Longchenpa appeared in this world as a second primordial Buddha Samantabhadra, transmitting teachings with the lion's roar of the three categories of Dzogchen... His works are indistinguishable from the words of the Victorious One, the Buddha, and they constitute an inconceivabl...

Re: Guru Longchen Rabjam Drime Ozer

As for me, for as long as conditioned existence continues, may I carry out the activities of my guru, my glorious guide. Through my abundant activity, which brings enormous benefit to others, may those who see, hear, think of, or touch me be released from samsara. Any beings who are connected to me-...

Re: Is Dharma practice a struggle for you?

We also don't have to accomplish this alone. Even if we can't yet benefit directly from a teacher or sangha, such as in my case, the buddhas and bodhisattvas have unobstructed vision, as Shantideva says. They see and hear the lonely practitioner with heavy defilements who calls out, "Compassionate ...

Re: Rudra

"The Lamentation of Rudra" from the Stainless King of Confession tantra goes into this a bit. It's one of the most intense confessions and it never fails to illicit strong feelings of lament and remorse.

Are the dohas in the link above the only dohas of Virupa to be translated? Are they apart of a larger collection?

Thanks.
There are a couple of short verses here and there, but this is the only complete large doha.

Re: Mahasiddha Virupa -- Lord of Yoga

All sentient beings are emanations of mahamudra,
the essence of those emanations is the forever non-arising dharmadhatu,
also all characteristics of dualistic appearances, happiness, suffering and so on,
are the play of mahamudra, the original dharmata

Re: Is Dharma practice a struggle for you?

I struggle when I get caught up in concepts of expectation. Ever since I was really young I have been impressed by past masters who have done intense practice. When I notice I'm not doing intense practice like the ancient siddhas I get a bit discouraged. ( Cause living off grid doing silent practice...

Re: Prayers before reading dharma texts

Thanks everyone!
Very practical replies.
I was unaware of the Manjusri prayer (Gang Lo Ma) so I'll incorporate that sometimes as well as the other suggestions.
