Dzogchen is not even like Mahamudra, yet its similar to Gnostic Christianity?

Re: Buddha nature misunderstood as atman.

In Mahamudra, a tantric tradition, Buddha nature simply refers to the nature of mind, which is also known by many other terms in that tradition.

Re: Buddha nature misunderstood as atman.

It depends whether you are talking about tantric or sutric Buddha nature, which are two different things. The Tathāgatagarbha Sutras ARE eternalist, and contain some pretty crazy stuff few people are aware of. I've even read somewhere they influenced Advaita Vedanta. The point is that part of the su...

Re: How long for actual Meditation...?

Hmm, see I cannot help but think that there is no substitue for silent meditation (for want of a better description). Mantra, Yantra, Bells and Mudras seem to give me more to think abut rather than the opportunity to experience my mind. It feels a little like putting more furniture in the prison ce...

Re: How long for actual Meditation...?

From the Vajrayana POV, trul khor, tummo, karmamudra etc. is better than contrived meditation.

Yeah I suspected it was Kangkar Rinpoche, one of ChNN's main teachers, b7t you kept saying Kunga. :rolling: She doesn't even understand the difference between Mahayana and Madhyamaka. indicate the maha parinirvana sutra is included as one the main sutras relied by the Madhyamaka tradition. I find people come with all sorts of excuses not to weight train.

Kids will say 'Oh it will stunt my growth'

Women will say 'Oh it will make me look like a man'

The best is weight training with a barbell i.e. squats, deadlifts etc.

Better than any yoga, cardio, diet etc. in terms of getting and staying in shape.

Re: Females who achieved rainbow body

Such obsession with the body at the time of death. Why on earth does it matter? Rainbow body is the fixation that ruins many a Dzogchen practitioner. In depends on what you mean by "rainbow body", which as I understand is merely a prevalent English phrase. Malcolm said that one can comple...

My suspicion is that Potala is the same as Tirumala mountain, and that the statue of Venkateswara is actually that of Avalokiteśvara.

Meditation is contrived and conceptual from the Vajrayana POV.

Re: Rebirth

Viewing the "Akashic Records" is an actual Siddhi spoken of in the Buddha Dharma, it's just not called that. And of course what Occultism calls "Astral Projection"', the Buddha Dharma calls Milam or Dream Yoga. I find Theosophy to be very interesting, and useful to an extent. It...
