The state of Dzogchen spontaneously results from the Dzogchen practice.
We are all f****d then.
... that would make the state of dzogchen a result that arises from causes, no different from the other eight yanas

Re: Dzogchen // Middle Way

Quick question: Is Dzogchen contemplation (e.g. Norbu Rinpoche's guru yoga) a "middle way" between recognizing versus not recognizing an object? By recognition, I mean reacting to a sense impression of the object with a conscious (even an inner linguistic) affirmative cognition — like, "this is my ...

Re: Dharmakaya / Primordial Buddha

Well, they are primordially enlightened sentient beings who are depicted as blue skinned and often sitting in yab yum with their consorts, for example. How are they a resemblance of Shiva? Could you explain? When did Blue Skin ever mean being primordially enlightened? That seems rather like claimin...

Re: question on distingushing mind from it's nature

I'm assuming nearly everyone participating in this thread has had introduction....the theme is 'what next'... Namkhai Norbu used to say that after introduction we repeat that G.Y method or other different ones until we have some clarity as to what our nature is. Then once we have some confidence ab...

Re: Kagyu Ngondro/ Dzogchen transmission?

Hello! First post here. Just curious about Ngondro. I am preparing to begin Kagyu Ngondro. I am curious if once I compete that will I be able to receive Dzogchen transmissions or will I need to complete a separate Ngondro? Or will it depend on the teacher? Most teachers I will most likely be receiv...

The Kunjed Gyalpo view is only valid when one lives in the knowledge of primordial state.
To borrow elements from KG view while living in a partial view of a particular yana is dangerous and foolish.

Re: Buddha Shakyamuni and Dzogchen

Tashi delek, As Bönpo. do i have the question, if the Nepali Buddha Shakyamuni would have thought Dzogchen. This because His known Teachings were mainly written in a kind of "Pali" script , later on palm leaves during a certain Buddhist Council. - Dzogchen Script is in Sanskrit or Tibetan / Zhang Z...

Hello, My apologies for writing so out of the blue with my question as it may seem/be very unrelated to the nature of other questions on this Mahamudra forum. That being said, I was hoping someone might be able to educate me on whether there is an actual symbol (or various symbols) for Mahamudra as...

Re: three year retreat experiences?

I’m going to speak Kagyu heresy and float the idea that maybe Kongtrul’s 3 year retreat formula isn’t the best vehicle for transmitting Dharma to the West. Maybe people should learn fewer practices and learn to actually master them. Perhaps something like Ngondro, Shamans & Chenrezig. As it is now ...

For those who want to check Yeshi Namkhai’s delivery of teachings there are a few videos with Russian titles on youtube and therefore not easy to find unless you can read russian writing or at least know how to spell his name. Just as it is important that you don't confuse your own innate buddhanature with the personality you are manifesting as at the moment. Guru Yoga probably has more misunderstanding...

How Will You See the Guru? BY DZONGSAR KHYENTSE RINPOCHE| JANUARY 12, 2017 Are you able to see your teacher as the Buddha? It’s not easy, says Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, but for the Vajrayana practitioner, this is where the real path begins. https://www.lionsroar.com/how-will-you-see-the-guru/?fbc...

Re: gaze/open eyes/closed eyes

All the shapes that the eye can see reveal the essence of one’s state that is why it is important not to prevent the eye organ from helping to establish knowledge.Same goes for all the other senses.
