Re: Trekchod/pointing out instructions

Selflessness, illusion, etc., are core Dzogchen principles. Formally a dzogchen teacher would no introduce these when introducing dzogchen teachings. Don't be silly. Of course they would. It is for this reason that Longchenpa wrote a long commentary on just the eight examples of illusion, the sgyu ...

Re: Trekchod/pointing out instructions

Sounds like you're splitting hairs, Florin. Longchenpa speaks at length on those topics in his commentaries to his own Dzogchen writings so I think we can easily see their relevance in Dzogchen. Personally i make a distinction in between training in order to gain familiarity and certainty in the pr...

Re: Trekchod/pointing out instructions

You are asking sutra level questions (selflessness, illusion, ego, etc...) in a topic with a dzogchen title. Selflessness, illusion, etc., are core Dzogchen principles. Formally a dzogchen teacher would no introduce these when introducing dzogchen teachings. A dzogchen teacher introduces the student ...

Re: Trekchod/pointing out instructions

Hello, I've been meditating for the past several years (mostly focusing on the breath) and ever since I first began my practice I was told that the self is an illusion and that all forms of ego are just constructs of thoughts, and I've understood this completely in a conceptual way but I've never d...

this is a difficult text (it's a Dzogchen tantra after all).
Why would a Dzogchen Tantra be difficult ?

I haven't read it yet...but will begin reading it today...
Because dzogchen is difficult.

Re: Kyab Rig

I attended a teaching with TWR in 2016 where this issue came up. Here is the relevant passage from the transcript: Is he talking about an self-existing dimension of awareness that is independent of specific and individual minds? Is this what he means when he says "beyond"? I need to ask because i c...

Re: Kyab Rig

I attended a teaching with TWR in 2016 where this issue came up. Here is the relevant passage from the transcript: Q: I felt very happy and a couple of questions arose from that. One was, is this the same thing in all of us? This boundless mind? Is this the same in everyone? This is one question. A...

Re: Vajrayana is not Tibetan Buddhism

Vajrayana is a synonym for Highest Yoga Tantra (HYT). Most of Tibetan Buddhism is not HYT (to those fortunate to be practicing HYT within Tibetan Buddhism, you are in the truest sense "Vajrayana practitioners"). Yep, Vajrayana is HYT and Mantrayana is Kriya and Yoga Tantra. Although I would add tha...

D. Germano on the same subject: "In Tibet, however, a brilliant renaissance of Buddhism began around the same time as the final flowering of Buddhist India, driven by a massive importation of literature, practices, and ideas from India across the Himalayas. Uniquely for Buddhist Asia, Tibetans impor...

No, I hope they will make booklet one day. Rinpoche gives the tibetan text of the sadhana if you ask and some people have done translations but I hesitate to mention them in an open forum. /magnus ChNN is the only known holder of ChchD teachings? The thing is that the guru cannot show you your nature even with the help of his own words let alone with the help of descriptions that come out from someone else's mouth.

Do you think the master is less qualified if they can't directly see all who received the D.i there and then? No, not that. Presumptions only would produce other projections. Re: Teacher & Root Guru

In Dzogchen, a root guru is the person who introduces one to one's primordial state in an unmistakable way. and later Jyoti wrote Or one can go even deeper and state that the state of vidya is the guru, and all gurus are included within this state of vidya. These external activities between gurus a...
