Re: Tibetan Masters' advice on dealing with loneliness

However, even you must realize how absolutely impractical it is here in the west. Also lets not forget that those who provoke anger in us are actually our best spiritual friends according to Garchen Rinpoche as they show us our own faults etc. Aren't non-buddhists and living in flawed tirthika soci...

Do you think is it possible for deva from any realm to go to guru rinpoche pureland if they want to ?
I'm pretty sure there are some Deva... even Asura... that may receive Mahayana and Vajrayana teachings... so technically yes.

Re: Tibetan Masters' advice on dealing with loneliness

That is not my logic, that is a quote from Dilgo Khyenste Rinpoche. No, that is your logic, based on your misinterpretation of what Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche said. Grigoris... I was befriended by buddhists because I had interest and faith. Interest and faith is the reason teachers teach and translato...

Re: Tibetan Masters' advice on dealing with loneliness

An unsuitable friend is one who is fond of distractions, totally immersed in ordinary worldly activities, and who does not care in the least about achieving liberation - a friend who has no interest or faith in the Three Jewels. Oh, and let us not forget another minor detail: You are a convert Budd...

Re: Tibetan Masters' advice on dealing with loneliness

I think you're right to avoid non-buddhists, dating and befriending them is a waste of time. Complete and utter nonsense. "As for "unsuitable friends" what is meant here is those who have the effect on you of increasing your three negative emotions - hatred, attachment, and stupidity - and who enco...

Re: Tibetan Masters' advice on dealing with loneliness

Maybe he's the Little Prince? Our lives are limited by time and space, so we have to prioritise everything. Like not wasting your time posting nonsense on an internet forum? For example. The only distraction that exists for us, is our own mind. Anyway... If you ever get the chance to get to a Buddh...

In ChNN's Precious Vase, Ch. 2, points 4.1 - 4.9, you can find information very precise on some questions you are asking.

Irredeemable Thoughts, Words, and Deeds

What thoughts, words, and/or deeds are irredeemable? For example, if I were to murder one of my Gurus, could I purify that? If not, then why not? If everything is empty why can't we purify everything in this life? Why would we need to be reborn in Vajra Hell to be able purify something? Thank you.

Re: Tibetan Masters' advice on dealing with loneliness

I think we should befriend lonely people and pleasantly distract depressed people, but in addition to accumulating merit we also have to accumulate wisdom. Accumulating wisdom requires meditation, meditation requires being in the company of those who understand the importance of meditation and respe...

Re: Narak Kong Shak Questions

Also the three year thing—as I’ve mentioned before in similar threads—is provisional (i.e. expedient/skillful means to keep us from slacking for too long). This is what I have been thinking lately. I might be wrong, but it is my understanding that there is nothing that cannot be purified in Mahayan...

Re: Tibetan Masters' advice on dealing with loneliness

It was Valentine's day yesterday but I didn't feel lonely. However today my heart was hit by extreme bouts of loneliness and depression for no reason. I had been alone for more than a decade now and honestly, right now, I do not have the time, the energy, the motivation to date any women as it is e...

Re: Narak Kong Shak Questions

Do all Nyingma accept the validity Narak Kong Shak? Thank you. Strange question. Why, do you believe, that it would not be accepted? It seems to contradict The Treasury of Knowledge: Book Five: Buddhist Ethics and Perfect Conduct: Ascertaining the Three Vows about the time limit to repair samaya. B...
