Re: Disassembling Dharma Books

Is there anything wrong with disassembling dharma books to scan them? Thank you. It is like killing sentient beings, if you can restore them whole and perfect, no problem. But if you can't.... What about non-dharma books? I already disassembled one dharma book... so everything is fine if I restore ...

Re: How to REALLY Relax

Recognize sensory desire is suffering. Lie down and close your eyes. Relax all of your muscles. Let go of the past. Let go of the future. Let go of mental commentary. Focus on the breath. Focus on the pleasant sensation of the breath. Enjoy. Let go. Start a daily stretching routine. Sleep, eat, and ...

Re: Memory - improvement techniques

Giving up sensory desire is probably the best. You want to start living in your mind's eye or sense consciousnesses. You have two choices: artificial memory techniques and natural memory techniques. Artificial techniques essentially have you construct and encode information using the sense conscious...

...doesn’t that mean I won’t be interested in having grand parties with the beautiful goddesses and taking a walk with them on their lush gardens ? You get to set your own priorities. Mahayana teachings are so vast, it is hard to know where to start. Any recommendations?

Do I need a teacher or are there any paths I can study on my own? I ask that, not because I don't want a teacher but because they are hard to find where I live.

Re: Leaving a teacher (ChNN)

Hi, my friend (yes, really a friend) has few months back started engaging with gelug lama and sangha connected with that lama and found out that the style the teachings is presented in fits him. He actually find it more effective for him than ChNN's teachings too. It really seems that he has a stro...
