Re: Dream of being Hayagriva

This night I dreamt I was Hayagriva. I was very wrathful, and I was continuously repeating his mantra as my natural speech. In the dream I was climbing a tree, and I was fighting against beings trying to follow me. Now, I have only read about Hayagriva but never received any transmission. He is one...

Re: Quitting smoking

Is anyone here an ex-smoker? Can anyone give me some advice to quit smoking. I am a pack a day smoker or more and my parents smoke so it's hard to quit. Wondering if there are any practices that I can do to quit smoking. Once weed is legal in Canada I can try to replace smoking ciggarettes with pot...

Looking for the Shortest Vajrasattva Practice for Ayang Rinpoche Interview

I will be doing Ayang Rinpoche's Vajrasattva course, and I will be seeing him for an interview and I was hoping to receive a lung for the shortest Vajrasattva practice he can give and also Narak Dong-trug Kan-shag (Dredging the Depths of Hell Fulfillment & Confession). Does anyone know the shortest ...

Apparently so is Sogyal Lakar.
Recognized by his mother, but not really enthroned, or recognized by anyone else as such.
I see, thank you.

I'm very happy to have received Guru Rinpoche empowerment from Guru Rinpoche. My first Guru was Guru Rinpoche.

Re: Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche is the Mind Emanation of Guru Rinpoche

In Tibet they don't seem to have a problem to have several Padmasambhavas around. Why would they? It's a perfectly orthodox opinion to hold. You know, for any odd reason in Tibet tulkus are or were born in rich and influential families with much higher probability than in poor and not so influentia...

Re: Practise to recall past incarnations

You can venerate Ksitigarbha, one of the benefits of that is remembering one's past lives. There is also a small "practice" for this found in Mindfulness, Bliss, and Beyond by Ajahn Brahm (which isn't really different than hypnotic age regression): https://www.amazon.ca/Mindfulness-Bliss-Beyond-Medi...

I really recommend: https://www.amazon.ca/General-Theory-Love-Thomas-Lewis/dp/0375709223/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1531594200&sr=8-1&keywords=a+general+theory+of+love It explains the neuroscience of all this is layman's language. The conclusion of it is that these abused people who perceive abuse as l...

Dharma sees our human bodies as wish fulfilling jewels.
Just to add: This is only true for Mahayana and Vajrayana. In Hinayana, the Body is also seen as dirty. There are even practices around this theme.

Re: What's the point of abusive gurus?

The West seems to see humanity and our physical bodies as dirty and sinful. Dharma sees our human bodies as wish fulfilling jewels. That is the difference. In the west, you are either a dirty sinner or a dirty monkey. In Dharma we are descendants of gods and have potential to surpass gods infinitel...

Re: What's the point of abusive gurus?

The low self esteem is probably rooted in the Abrahamic traditions, so I disagree. If I remember correctly the rlung disorders are do to our electrical infrastructure. This is far from certain. Most people nowadays have never set foot in a church, and still low self-esteem is quite common. But all ...

Re: What's the point of abusive gurus?

i think tibetans used to have a healthy view on guru disciple relationship because they generally have much more sound psyche.
