Re: Sacred activism

..... It's unknown what the transformation will look like. I'm not focused on any result, nor do I think Andrew is. Seems to me a way of speaking about right action and initiatory forces afoot. To clarify, this does not imply indifference, Andrew speaks about this at the very end of the video. Also...

Re: Sacred activism

Thank you Rick. Nothing to forgive, it's gold. Andrew is a mystic and scholar. I spent time with him in the 90's in SFO in classes and workshops. Indeed, we are living in the dark ago of Kali. It's unknown what the transformation will look like. I'm not focused on any result, nor do I think Andrew i...

Re: meet the old masters now, before they're gone

No worries..... it's never too late to meet the masters. Dead or alive. Just don't try. do agree, there are fewer and fewer living. I was a newbie to Buddhism in about 1994 when I saw Dilgo Khyntse Rinpoche's picture on Surya Das altar. I did not know who he was. I felt the connection. He winked at ...

Like a flash of lightening or sparks struck from flint, In the blink of an eye, It is already gone On reflection, seeing kindness. lol, monkey see, monkey do.

reminds me, as an almost adult many years ago, I set my mother up. I screamed as if I saw a spider. She screamed too.

same could be said for zealots, perhaps :stirthepot:

Re: boring questions about losing weight

Calorie counting does not work in the end. Exercise is always good but not reliable for weight loss. Detox can eliminate toxins which are held in body fat. Stay away from all vegetable oils except olive oil, no bottled salad dressings, low carbs. Butter, coconut oil ok. 5-6 meals a day is a stress o...

Re: Have you tried Holotropic Breathwork?

ps.... I nearly forgot to mention that I also experienced an expanded consciousness, before I was conceived. let that sink in. It was beginners luck, and I went on to explore the trauma. Can't make these things happen. The work I was doing was called cellular consciousness. nowadays, it is not here,...

Re: Have you tried Holotropic Breathwork?

Holotropic breathwork is generally associated with Stan Grof. There are other forms, incl the original Primal Therapy, Arthur Janov. I worked with an Australian psychiatrist focused on pre-parinatal work/original conditioning. He trained with Janov. (both dead) Yes, it will induce an experience. I f...

Re: Cayenne Tea

I used to do this regularly for a while. Then I forgot about it... so many remedies!

I did 2-3 oz water with 1/4 to 1 tea cayenne ... the quantity doesn't seem to matter for taste. I added a dab of butter or ghee and a little salt. yes, be aware if heat is ok for you.

Re: Tsultrim Allione - Buddha at the Gas Pump Interview, live now

oh my, thanks for posting this. I was at Tara Mandala in 2005 when Adzom Rinpoche came for a teaching. I went to volunteer in the kitchen and also spent time with the teachings At that time, I was a zennie exploring the possibility of working (job) at Tara Mandala. Adzom Rinpoche was several days la...

hmm, why are we bring it up at all? I started with zfi from day 2, I had no idea of the history, e-shangha, etc. a bit of a sense reading this thread that informs my early impressions. no matter, it has nothing to do with how we go forward. here or there. I do have more appreciation for managing a f...

Re: Zen Space Forum down hard?

The members only divided forum was discussed at ZFI. Personally, I'm not in favor of it. It's a big solution for a small problem.... purity is not a solution in my mind.... it creates division and perhaps a certain addiction to perfection. Zen is full of stories of a simple cook or gardener becoming...
