Re: Karmic consequences of suicide in the tibetan tradition

No relation to your post chimechodra, I just wanted to say that I think a lot of Westerners have a hard time understanding the concept of empowerment.

When's the remix coming out?

Kevin...
In all seriousness, there's a "Thupten Tenzin remix," a "Karma Tenzin Dorji remix," a "Reggaeton remix," and others.

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

I contend that, amongst a group of self-professed Buddhists and Dzogchen practitioners, and in a discussion of different paths’views, which this is, pointing out that tirthika dharmas constitute wrong view is in no way disparagement. If we can’t even get to that point then we are going to have diff...

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

To add, Malcolm pointed out to me the other weekend in Santa Fe, which was a wonderful event by the way, that the Rig pa rang shar also states that tirthika non-dual views are untenable in the context of Dzogchen. Not to mention the fact that the same text rejects 360 different views, the teachings...

Re: is a home made statue acceptable?

I thought they had to be produced in a certai way, my buddhas have seals at the bottom of them. When I finally get round to making kwan yin I'll post some pictures!:) There are certain traditional standards, but that is more because art was taught in more of a scientific and very specific and techn...

Re: is a home made statue acceptable?

Hi everyone, I have 3 large buddha statues at home and recently I have been wanting to have a female presence on my shrine table. I am only beginning to understand the role kwan yin has and I have decided to add her to my shrine. I don't want a tiny statue as it would look odd next to my very large...

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

To have aversions towards other belief systems and disparage them is also against Buddhadharma & Dzogchen. In what way?? Which text says that we should not point out the errors of tirthika dharmas? Right, it's imperative that we understand these distinctions. It doesn't mean that we have to be unki...

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

What are you talking about ? You think I have a problem with this ? All i have been studying for the past 20 years is Buddhadharma...now a serious interest in Dzogchen.......i don't have a serious interest in anything else, nor have i EVER studied anything outside of Buddhadharma seriously.
