Re: What's the meaning of "life is duhhka"?

The first noble truth is life is duhhka, which is translated as unsatisfaction or unease. On one hand, this unease is good because it propels me to improve or to seek an improvement or something better than what I have now. Yet on the other hand, this constant seeking of something better and its ac...

Re: Bodhicitta is fleeting...

This past few weeks I have been trying to generate bodhicitta, which worked ( tho not a really strong one ). Yesterday after a heated argument , I found it really difficult to develop bodhicitta for beings - whenever I think of that enemy, I would just say “ hm, better to leave you all behind , sin...

Re: Falling sick from a practise?

I am not familiar with any practice like this. It sounds like too much prana was moving upward, which is what caused the headache, and other symptoms. I would discontinue this practice (sounds like you have already), take rest, have some warm ghee or butter and some warm milk, rest and relax for a ...

I initially was studying the lamrim path as per Je Tsongkhapa when I asked a question about learning more about shamatha.
There are also lots of teachings you can receive such as lamrim. There is no contradiction practicing that and shamatha.

Re: Immutable Nature of the Primordial State

I hope this is clear and I appreciate the help. I can intuitively sense there is an answer to this question but I cannot grasp it yet. Receive transmission and then practice Guru Yoga. Later on study texts to help remove your illusions. If you try to do the last bit first, you will only become more...

Re: Falling sick from a practise?

This morning I wake up, have to call in to work to take a sick day. Feeling sick, headache, throat pain, not very active/powerful. A bit hot. I am not familiar with any practice like this. It sounds like too much prana was moving upward, which is what caused the headache, and other symptoms. I woul...

Yes, when they give faulty teachings that don't work, we get to lock them up in a stockade and throw lemons and other fruits at them.

Re: Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo & Lama Tsultrim Allione: Shambhala's Sakyong Mipham

I'm beginning to think that the only crazy wisdom we really need these days is a radical respect towards women that breaks from the patriarchal norm; that actually acknowledges them as not only being embodiments of the feminine divine, but as human beings, too, and therefore their equal rights to e...

Re: Abhidharmasamuccaya

While dipping into the Karma section of Geshe Sopa's commentary on the Lamrim Chenmo I noticed that however popular & influential Vasubandhu's Kosa is, Geshe Sopa says Asanga's Abhidharmasamuccaya is the higher Abhidharma & the Kosa the lower. Wonder how widespread that valuation is? Asanga's is a ...
