Positive Health in Tibetan Medicine by Vaidya Bhagwan Dash and Doboom Tulku

I just picked up Positive Heath in Tibetan Medicine by Vaidya Bhagwan Dash and Ven. Doboom Tulku. It is a traslation of the Sman-'tsho-ba'i-mdo (Vaidya-Jiva-Sutra). I started it yesterday (although I haven't completed the Decameron yet due to too much schoolwork). Has anybody else read this? Opinion...

Re: Which consciousnesses exist in the bardo?

What I find striking is that there is no mention of any of the later schools as being, amongst them, various specifically Mahāyāna schools. No mention, as far as I have noticed as of yet. That's not a bad thing, per se. That's not ill-speech or anything of the like, but there isn't a widespread kno...

And I'd ignore the whole thing if it wasn't right outside my window. I don't really care what any of them does(as long as they"re not breaking the law), but keep it away from me is my stance. Anyway, thank you for posting Kevin. Well I hope the noise does not become too disturbing for you. All the ...

Re: Which consciousnesses exist in the bardo?

This is because we are a gandharva (although my previous question in the previous post still stands, I am much more ignorant than I might try to appear, much much more) . I read about these in the Pāli Canon. In EBT studies, there is a somewhat wave-making article by the Venerable Śrāvaka Anālayo e...

I just want to say a sincere thank you to the couple people on this thread who tried to help workout attacking me. It's much appreciated and good karma coming your way for sure. We are helping you. Re: My new neighbor

I recommend earplugs and dark sunglasses. Maybe you can invite some friends to your cottage as well? I don't think the earplugs or dark glasses would really help. If I had some friends it would be good though, to kind of go through this experience with me. Thanks for the suggestions. Why is this su...

Oh then if we abide in our Natural State, as Trekchöd, then there would be no Thögal present ?
Thögal first appears when Trekchöd is mastered ? Before that it is residing somewhere else?

Neither Series contains trechöd or thögal.

Re: Dzogchen and Mahamudra: differences and similarities

Dzogchen is Trekchöd and Thogal. Actually it is a lot more than that, and trechod and thogal aren't "indivisable." People can practice just trechod and become enlightened. You practice thogal only when your trechod is very stable. But to "have doubts" caused by others who state that our Master(s) m...

Re: Dzogchen and Mahamudra: differences and similarities

So i disagree complete, with the statement earlier done by Malcolm, that Rainbow Body number 1 can be achieved by the practice of Mahamudra only, e.g. on the base of Trekchöd only. ( without Thögal) Kalden, You seem to have the opinion that trechod without thogal is Mahamudra. How did you come to t...

Well that is kind of a different topic. What we are discussing here is the sad, sad state of affairs of Tibetan Buddhism in the West. Including why there are even monastic positions in this time and place when they don't allow a person to receive an education or even increase their level of practice...
