Re: Pics from my recent trip.

Beautiful stupas and statue, and beautiful scenery. It is nice to get out to nature sometimes. I am up in the Adirondacks myself. I will post some pics in another thread. Kevin... I never got photos but it was lovely. I saw Lake Placid (2'nd time), Lake Flower, Schroon Lake, Loon Lake, Lake George ...

Sure, I'm missing the point. The point is you need to open a new thread to continue to discuss this.

Correct. Just been mumbling nonsense.
Glad we cleared that up.

Re: What's the point of abusive gurus?

Bunch of dummies. Absolutely correct, the dharma has no purpose whatsoever and the Buddha was stupid for teaching it. No. It’s precious. Look CW, we are just saying we have to discuss this. If someone points out nonduality is rejected, you have to refute that one way or another, not just say "dummy...

Re: Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo & Lama Tsultrim Allione: Shambhala's Sakyong Mipham

I'm beginning to think that the only crazy wisdom we really need these days is a radical respect towards women that breaks from the patriarchal norm; that actually acknowledges them as not only being embodiments of the feminine divine, but as human beings, too, and therefore their equal rights to e...

Re: Abhidharmasamuccaya

While dipping into the Karma section of Geshe Sopa's commentary on the Lamrim Chenmo I noticed that however popular & influential Vasubandhu's Kosa is, Geshe Sopa says Asanga's Abhidharmasamuccaya is the higher Abhidharma & the Kosa the lower. Wonder how widespread that valuation is? Asanga's is a ...

Apparently, we need lemon laws.
Yes, when they give faulty teachings that don't work, we get to lock them up in a stockade and throw lemons and other fruits at them.

Re: Karma, "soulmates" etc

Hi Tharpa, And how does Tibetan astrology look at these things. I imagine considering how important it is, they must have a notion about this stuff. Astrology can be used to find compatibility between people. When people are highly compatible they can be of great benefit to each other. It all depend...

I am pretty sure none of you think that Naropa let Tilopa abuse him to the point of death without Naropa getting some realisation, some awakening in the process. That would be very stupid on his part and I think we all know that Naropa wasn't stupid. Many of these crazy stories are horseshit fabric...
