Re: Question on using multiple mantras

I don't believe in this "two wifes" saying, because all yidams are one essentially. But anyhow, I think your question could best be answered by a teacher who can look into your eyes. Because I think, this is not a one size fits all problem. For different persons the answer could be differently, I bet.

I fail to understand the intention of this teaching that forbids making statues.
So that professional statue makers do not go out of business?
This is a valid objection. ;)

Re: is a home made statue acceptable?

It is very demeritorious to make images of the Buddha, etc., that do not correspond to the proper proportions. The question is about kwan yin, so I believe it is rather about Chinese or Vietnamese tradition than Tibetan. The proportions aren't so important in these traditions. I think, he just want...

Re: Wrathful deities

Good to know there are more out there, thanks. I am focused on some other things now but will look into getting a teaching when the time comes. Maybe recite mantras and try to follow 5 precepts for the time being. Don’t wait too long. There are great teachers in the world now, who knows about the f...

I think distinction btwn peaceful and wrathful deities comes down to one’s own perpetual capacity for nondual truth.
I believe, this is a good post.

Re: Is there just one Buddha?

I can't answer, because I don't know.

Your OP just reminds me of a saying by Nagarjuna : "... not one, not many ..."

I can't find it in English: it is from Nagarjuna's MMK the very first shastra 1.1

So the country that just spent 6 trillion dollars killing 500,000 Muslims since 9/11 is very upset that some human rights were violated. You certainly are the experts.
Who is 'you'?

No need to be a special expert to damn murder and discrimination, I think.

Aung San Suu Kyi's answer to DJKR's letter would be interesting. But I can't find such a thing.

If possible, spend more time with people who have good habits. Think positive of yourself and cultivate good & healthy habits, because you are worth it.

Re: I need some help for an internet research

So, thanks. I'll check that out. I can find very much about the different kinds of viruses and about which software is affected and so on. But it's hard to find any fresh information about the question in the OP. If i compare it to the question "How many fruit grow on planet earth?" for example, the...

Re: I need some help for an internet research

Hi, Ayu, In English it's usually spelled "Malware" and a search for that term should get you plenty of results. All I can say as a user is that I have rarely had problems with getting stuff from anyone I know but I do routinely get suspicious emails - phishing scams, Nigerian gold, etc - from stran...

I need some help for an internet research

Someone asked me to explore about maleware that is shipped accidently. How often do we receive maleware by friends or aquaintances via email, facebook or any other media without intention? Or the question from the other way round: How much maleware is sent at all and how often is it sent with crimin...

Anything from human bones is illegal in Germany, AFAIK. We are only allowed to burry or cremate human bones - or to use them for science with certain permission. But anyhow, thank you @all for this thread. I wasn't informed yet about this, but that dosn't mean anything 'cause I'm an absolute beginn...

Not sure what you're referring to, Ayu. Could you post a picture of what you mean?

Looks like this, but one imagines it's a skull.
