Re: When you first started... (lightweight question)

Drinks hotter than 70°C can cause cancer, some sientists found out. This is the point of temperature when the bubbling has stopped fully. But in a lower temperature than "boiling", hot water is very healthy. It serves as an internal shower and cleanses the digestive system. It sounds strange that s...

Re: Giving Up Sugar and Junk Food

Sugar is a bit like a drug. So, the good news is: the less you eat it the smaller becomes the appetite for sugar. If you eat none, then there is no desire also. But how to get there is another question. Everybody is his own child. One can find out the best ploys that work for oneself by oneself. :sm...

Re: sexual harrassment & sexual assault in the US

... Europe doesn't seem to have this problem. Maybe the puritan backround isn't that strong in Europe but it exists. And for sure we have sexual harrassment in all those forms. In my view, the me-too-campaign is a sign of progress in the USA while in Europe (most parts) we're still waiting for some...

Re: The Only Capitol of Israel

I'm not following this story in the news, so I have no sage comments to offer, only a question - Why does Trump get to tell another country where their capital should be? I really don't get this. There's obviously a long game here - what is it? Well, the "advantage" is that there will be war immedi...

Re: sexual harrassment & sexual assault in the US

Theres two types of people in the world, perverts and perverts that get caught out. Sorry it's just a condition of being human. Everyone has there little secrets and if you don't I would say your a liar. I think, I like better the "perverts that don't get caught", because most probably they have le...

Re: Why do hundreds of people view postings here for new threads but only few respond?

Buddha gave a recommendation not to talk too much. If you check your posting on: Is it right? Useful? Compassionate? Etc..., then you can't leave a comment on everthing you read. So, the rate 10:1 is high enough.

The fact is both here and at dhammawheel there are people who have been practicing a very, very long time and to get that perspective is extremely helpful whether you agree wit( them or not. Even if they’re just “sharing”. Are you also still referring to the OP here? I hope, it is cl...

I believe, everybody could be able to sing. Learning by doing.
I also think, singing is vibrating the chakras and thus it can be very beneficial, if the music is right.

Corrected version: not pathetic but histrionic... .... On Sunday I'm going to a Handel's Messiah singalong, sort of another local tradition. I have a copy in German/English and was getting some pretty good laughs singing the German version poorly last night. Yes, I find it also funny even if ...
