Re: Question about Sang offering

I saw a sang offering where tea or sfran water was poured into the fire. But I never received any teaching about sang offering. So, this pouring water into fire could mean anything. Maybe it is an offering or something completely different.

Re: How are you?

Now I have to pack my things for a little local stage - we're gonna give a concert tonight. What instrument do you play, Ayu? What kind of music? I'm a musician/performer too, and have had to perform with an awful cold/flu thingie. It was harrowing! I am a singer in an acapella band. We are trying ...

Re: Are men or women more interested in Enlightenment?

Sadhaka, I never doubted that... And it's off topic, yes. I forgot to add: in my sangha there are 90% women as students. There are as many female translators as male. We have eight German nuns and three Tibetan monks. German monks are seldom and they quit more easily. On the German wikipedia startpa...

Re: Are men or women more interested in Enlightenment?

2nd chance, your observations have nothing to do with women's interest in Dharma. Women's minds are similar to man's. They are persons, human beings, with a similar mind as everybody else. Your observation is caused by the general neglecting of women. They are simply forgotten, nobody looks at them ...

Re: How are you?

Just a casual thread to say hey. Stay warm. . Hey. I've caught a cold, but I can handle it with some grandmother's remedies - eucalyptus, salt water steam inhalation, tea. Now I have to pack my things for a little local stage - we're gonna give a concert tonight. Gonna drink some green tea now 'cau...

Re: Tibetan Masters' advice on dealing with loneliness

That sounds very romantic, Queequeg. For me, in my life, there is a difference between sangha friends and daily friends. Of course some contact to a sangha and especially to a good teacher is important for my spiritual practice - but it does not happen I could see them on daily base. In day ...

Re: Tibetan Masters' advice on dealing with loneliness

It was Valentine's day yesterday but I didn't feel lonely. However today my heart was hit by extreme bouts of loneliness and depression for no reason. I had been alone for more than a decade now and honestly, right now, I do not have the time, the energy, the motivation to date any women as it is e...

I wouldn't provide the internet with information about my health and fitness. This is way too personal for any insurance or employer to deal with.

This has been a real challenge for me and I want to relate to my boss in the best possible way.
The best way to deal with a bad boss is to become an entrepreneur and boss in your own right.
And try to be a better boss then.

What is the best way to deal with a boss who likes to give long-winded lectures and can be condescending and nagging Metta. Imagine to be in his shoes for one day. Consider, why his behavior is bothering you? And what kind of karma might that be? Real challenges are most important for our developme...

Re: How to face false accusation

False accusations coming from the closest family I answer with talking, explaining, discussion, listening and exchanging of different views. Because I can assume the issue arose due to some misconception and not due to ill-will. I'm trying to understand what lead to their conception. I know, they lo...
