Can anybody let me know if anybody has Mulamadhyamakarika of Nagarjuna in Devanagari script with Hindi translation? I would like to read this? Thanks Maybe this link gives a hint, where to seek for it? https://hi.wikipedia.org/wiki/मूलमध्यमककारिका https://books.google.co.in/books?id=46tIVTfDd0wC&pr...

138 minutes in one single take

Yesterday I saw a film that was impressing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_(2015_film) The story was simple action stuff: some stupid teenagers ruined their lifes within two hours one morning in Berlin. But the style was amazing: the complete film was shot in one single continuous take. The ...

Re: If our honesty is hurtful to some, should we remain silent?

My mother-in-law was a bit similar. I think, if you have to express yourself, you should not be silenced. The best idea is to create a new blog address and not mention it to your family. On the other hand, if Buddhism is not concerned, I think, a little homeopathic dose of honesty is very important ...

Re: Is chewing Nicotine Gum to quit smoking a breach of the 5th precept?

Trying to quit smoking is supporting the 5th precept. Nevertheless if smoking is an intoxication that concerns the 5th precept or not: the trial to leave a bad habit supports good habits and restraint already. IMO.

Dear Buddhists,

My screenname is Dharmasherab. I was originally a Theravada Buddhist since birth but very recently I entered Vajrayana. However I still continue my Theravada practices and continue to learn Theravada in addition to Vajrayana also.

Re: Random Thoughts

Went to a symphony last night and I swear Coolio's Gangster's Paradise sounds a lot like Dvorak's Serenade for Strings, Op22 II. Menuetto. And actually, Coolio's song is a sample of Stevie Wonder, so I'm "wondering" if Stevie got a bit of his musical ideas from Dvorak. My impression is only consume...

Re: Zen rocks in the desert

Beyond its scale, Seven Magic Mountains differs from traditional rock balancing in that it uses an inner support structure, presumably to help it withstand the desert’s high winds. That is a smart solution. So, the artist could make the construction seem impressingly unstable and dangerous while it...

Re: Random Thoughts

Tomorrow I have to write something for German and history and learn math. I'm so afraid to start with math. But it will be good have it done, tomorrow night. What kind of math are you studying? No real study, I'm just going to school again. Something like high school for adults in the eveni...

Yes, very nice thread so far. I think, the Catalonians will manage their mess somehow. I have to manage mine: many "to-do"s on my list every day but I don't like to hurry. I have to take the duties smoothly. "Sweet, soft and easy". But it's interesting anyhow. Today it was a very rainy & cold day. S...

Re: Winter festivities

I don't find it really offensive, but I have to add: one of the most saddening things about Christmas time are the many lonely drunken people in town. Where do you see these lonely drunks, are they sitting alone in bars? I fear that's my future someday...no kids, distant family spread across the co...

Re: Winter festivities

Yes, it would be extremely wonderful, if one could send surplus food to other parts of the world. You're right, how is that not a service yet? Must be a problem of durability of the dishes and of money for postage. But in our German bigger cities we have a volunteer movement ("Tafeln"): peo...

Re: Meditation Halls... like Gymnasiums

When I am traveling and looking for a quiet place for meditation, I use to visit churches and sit there. If the church is not famous, it is likely to be the most quiet place in a crowded city. I suppose, the Christian God doesn't mind me performing Buddhist meditation in his place. I don't u...
