Re: Is it rare to spew don’t time with you guru?

... Again, sorry if this offends anyone. At least I'm not offended. No criticism intended in my question, really. I was just thinking of all these Tibetans who are not able to see their guru often. And also myself... I can't live near to my teacher and I speak to him personally once a year or once ...

Re: 3 top NON Bhuddhist, Fiction Books you have read..in your LIFE

I can't judge which one I liked most and there are some more.

The Mistress of Spices - by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

To Kill a Mockingbird - by Harper Lee

Huckleberry Finn - by Mark Twain

And I love every book from Amy Tan, Erich Käster and Hans Bemmann.

Re: Is it rare to spew don’t time with you guru?

Can this effect take place by imagining the teacher was here as well? There are so many people who neither have a chance to live next next to their guru nor they can see him often. But they keep faith deeply.

Re: boring questions about losing weight

One has to change one's taste. Get used to healthy food, learn to avoid sugar, learn not to overeat,... Don't bother too much about food... And it is really helpfull to avoid starches and sugar after 12 o'clock a.m. I once lost 32 pounds within one year by eating vegetables for dinner only. But when...

Re: Falling sick from a practise?

Looking at the site link for Kailash Hause, in the about section, and under all the individual western people running the center or leading workshops, there is no reference to lineage. No reference to a Guru who gave the transmissions and guided any of these people. And the main founder Wilfried Pf...

Re: Falling sick from a practise?

In my personal experience, such difficulties arise due to aversion an anxiety. So, maybe this practice itself is quite okay but without full trust into the teacher, the group, the practice can't work properly. Possibly your aversion has good reasons which are not fully conscious to yourself yet. But...

My favorite quote was for some decades:

Life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved.
This idea was a good helper through many crazy times. :sage:

Rosemary and thyme freezes to death every very cold winter here. They cannot stand temeratures lower than -4°C. Really? It freezes here too, but the Rosemary and Thyme survives. Maybe because the freeze does not last so long? Ours survived well below -10 with the Beast from the East last winter and...

I have noted an excessive amount of odd behaviour here and also at home. Re: How to NOT annoy the guru?

You should read more. There are plenty of Buddhist tantras giving spells and advice how to curse, kill etc. Of course, successful application presumes you are indeed a practitioner of the tantric vehicle. Which presumes you have the right view as well as samayas. ' Enemies' of the doctrine are not ...
