Re: In between Taoism and Buddhism

This comes from another current thread but seemed relevant in this one, if not exactly at this stage of it ... "I like to focus on the internal a lot." I don't see exactly how Buddhist tantra is related to that, as it has a lot of rituals and visual practices, not that it doesn't have its depths. In...

Re: Problem with searches

I gave up on the internal search function years ago because it is incurably poor. I use Google Advanced Search instead - https://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en - or just do a site-specific search in Google or Duck Duck Go by entering site:https://dharmawheel.net/ and then my search term. Greg'...

I know he has plenty of critics, but in this subject don't overlook Alan Watts.
I should have mentioned John Blofeld, too.
His translation of the I Ching is good, IMO, and he wrote a delightful book about Guan Yin tracing connections to other Chinese beliefs.

Re: Religious nones are the new #1

Bias? I suspect it's stronger but not quite so straightforward. If the reporter or researcher (or research backer) is deeply enough embedded in their own brand of Christianity, they will see other brands as "other" enough to count as separate religions ... while automatically lumping together all sc...

Re: Religious nones are the new #1

Bizarre analysis, from where I sit. Nearly two thirds are Christian (perhaps more than two thirds if you add some of the "other affiliation" group) and he says "no religion" is the top result?

Good to see the evangelical crowd dwindling, though.
