Re: Ngondro Quandries

Susan, I was relying on Allan's memory. I told him a few weeks ago that it was the fourth anniversary and he said I was wrong. Glad someone actually writes stuff down. Thanks. :namaste: That's funny - I got an email from Allan too and wrote him back with the information about it being 2009. I doubl...

Re: Ngondro Quandries

2010. So three years have passed since then, making this the third anniversary. BTW, Susan said I was a "speed demon." It's not speed in saying the mantra but hours on the cushion. :namaste: Pema Chophel - Actually Mr. Kazi's parinirvana was in 2009 - I checked my journals yesterday to make sure. V...

Re: Ngondro Quandries

I've been practicing a very short, concise Ngondro that came to me through Lama Thupten Dorje Gyaltsen>Lama Sonam T. Kazi>Dudjom Rinpoche as far as I know, nobody on here has ever practiced it besides Pema Choepel---if anybody else is currently accumulating it, please let me know! As far as its exi...

Re: Natural Meditation

I just find some point in my visual field and 'hang' my vision on it like an old coat - personally, I need some focus or I tend more to fall asleep. But that focus doesn't need to be active, or engage thoughts, just a point of rest. But this is just my thought. Susan I think the point you are makin...

Just to emphasize what Muni said - you follow your teacher's direct guidance/instructions to you.

Re: Here I go again...

Hi Ball-of-string -
Welcome -

I was on Compuserve in the '80's too - member of something called the Religion Forum which had a Buddhist section, which is where I posted for the most part. Those were the days! :hi:

Re: a very unusual visiting lama

I've studied with a number of Dzogchen teachers - and the students always prostrated to the Lamas at the start of teachings. Usually the Lamas prostrated to images of the Buddhas at the start. For me prostrations were one of many methods that helped me to understand and appreciate Buddha nature - as...
