Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

Right. I just wasted a good 30 minutes of my life cleaning up the gibberish, from now on please REPORT trolling and let the staff deal with it.

Thank you.

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

And you need to stop talking about your experiences as all you are doing to reinforcing a memory, rather than cultivating a living experience.

There is no such thing as Dzogchen without Buddhism.
You are going to have to substantiate this, as I have seen you argue the complete opposite in the past and wish to know what the new justification is.

Re: TRUCK FUMP

I do passionately believe in democracy... And yet you believe that democracy is about a single powerful leader with all those surrounding him (yes, him) towing the line, instead of the statement, discussion and concurrence of dissenting views into a single unified position. Strange view of democrac...

Dedicate merit.

You can buy certain amulets, etc... and breathe on them after doing mantra, in which case it is the power of the mantra doing the work ,rather than your personal ability. ;)

Re: Dzogchen and Mahamudra: differences and similarities

Here is the Direct Introduction (Ganga Mahamudra / Indian Mahamudra): http://unfetteredmind.org/ganges-mahamudra-class/ Can somebody of you point out where this DI is happening ? Send them a message asking when and where. Garchen Rinpoche also gives Ganges Mahamudra instructions online via live str...

Is it correct that Dzogchen starts off with DI and develops on the basis of that whereas
Mahamudra offers a gradual part in which the guru is NOT directly and unmistakenly showing the nondualist view to the student?
No, there are traditions of DI in Mahamudra too. Ganges Mahamudra, for example.

Re: TRUCK FUMP

Sloppy reasoning, Greg. In a messy world, sometimes we have to take sides when neither one are the good ones.. I know I am being the Devil's advocate but you know what, truth is not negotiable in my book. We can't afford to play roughshod with it, because too many already do. The end does not justi...

Re: TRUCK FUMP

In that context, clearly seelling the means of killing is wrong, but making a direct connection to a specific incident is pushing it a bit. I guess it is similar to the gun sales to those who carry out massacres in the US. Bad karma for sure, and I would like to think they share in the vipaka from ...

Now, in this case you have a special perspective, maybe insight, but can you put a US finger on the button, or just on the arms sales invoice?
It's the same thing for me. Remember how selling weapons is wrong livelihood? That clause didn't get in there by chance.

Re: TRUCK FUMP

The Saudis are guilty of all kinds of atrocities. The fact that the US broadly supports them, doesn't make the US the perpetrator. So yes, as stated, it is fake, even more than when the Russians were accused of shooting down MH17. At least in that instance, the pro-Russian separatists had much less...

Naga Offering

Some time ago my Kagyu teacher gave me a practice for offering to the Naga. Unfortunately since then he has had a stroke and it is not possible for me to ask him many detailed questions. So here is the issue: The practice has a dharani which is read to please the Naga, the dharani starts with: TAYAT...

Re: Western Monastic - reasons why she left

I personally feel that Japanese buddhism is a better fit for the west. With lay house holder priests rather than monks/nuns. Self supporting with the lay sangha providing temple upkeep mainly. I know that I can't speak for everyone but I also feel that guru devotion generally wouldn't be accepted b...

Lack of attainment, ha! Is that all? That is piss-weak evidence of your lack of competitiveness. I am so un-competitive I have already have a chair booked in Avichi Hell with my name-card on it.

From where I am sitting, Boda is asking reasonable questions and is getting nothing but ad hominem in return. Just to be clear: I was not engaging in ad hom, I was making a joke. You are right, the questions are logical. But realistically, if boda wishes to engage in holotropic breathwork practices...
