Re: Prayer for Aurelia

People suicide (assisted or not) every day, so why are we praying for her in particular? Is she a friend of yours? OM MANI PEME HUNG Isn't because she's suffering a good enough reason? You are suffering too. And so am I. So why doesn't Nicholas start a prayer thread for us? Neither you, nor I am dy...

Re: Prayer for Aurelia

The Netherlands RTL news published an article on yesterday about a 29 year-old woman who was approved for euthanasia for psychiatric reasons. Her euthanasia death by lethal injection is scheduled for January 26. The article states (google translated): Sarah has no terminal illness, but knows that s...

Re: Spirit attack

I'm very reluctant to be making this thread, but it feels like I have to as I have nowhere else to turn. For the past year or so I have been experiencing medical troubles. In recent months I have been having repetitive dreams of being attacked by a spirit. The spirit appears in many different guise...

Re: Do Admins/Mods have access to read our PMs?

Ok, That's all I was wanting to know. Whether or not PM's were open to reading as simple as reading a forum thread for mods/admins, etc. But yes, the error I got was due to my inbox being full, I cleared my old messages, and it allowed me to release the new PMs. Thank you for the responses! It's go...

Re: Do Admins/Mods have access to read our PMs?

Probably just means you need to delete some messages. You are only allowed 100 in your box at a time. That indeed was the issue. However, I still would like to know if PM's are private or not. It's a pretty big deal to me (and I imagine others.) So, I await an official response to that. (Thank you!)

Re: The world is getting worse and worse

There are some thing's in the world that are improving. However, there are MORE things which are getting worse. The things which are getting worse, are very serious issues that could spell disaster for our entire species. [Overpopulation] A very serious one. One which threatens us with extinction in...

Do Admins/Mods have access to read our PMs?

So, I recently got an email that I had a PM from someone.(2 days ago.) When I tried to read it Dharmawheel.net gives me the message: You are not authorised to read private messages that are on hold. I am not entirely sure what "on hold" means, but it led me to wondering if our "Private Messages" are...

I don't need transmission, as I do not practice a form of Buddhism that requires it. I am only interested in one section anyways.

Looking for an English Translation of the "ritual manual of Bhiksu Prajñāprabhā"

As the title says, I am looking for an English Translation of the "ritual manual of Bhiksu Prajñāprabhā", one that is well translated and accurate. Honestly, I just want to read it, and check out some of these 'spells'

Re: Nerd humor in gravitational physics

I love thinking about this stuff :P science speaking that the universe is an illusion, a simulation ... it's a trip Is our universe FAKE? Physicists claim we could all be the playthings of an advanced civilisation Physicists say there is a possibility that our world is merely a simulation They clai...

Re: THE UNIVERSE SHOULD NOT ACTUALLY EXIST, CERN SCIENTISTS DISCOVER

I found this news on a Brazilian site about gnosticism in the media. http://cinegnose.blogspot.com.br/2017/11/fantasma-do-gnosticismo-ronda-cern-para.html :namaste: AH, I had to translate it, but I found this bit which kind of makes me feel better about the whole thing. Perplexed, Smorra says, "The...

Re: Nerd humor in gravitational physics

Apparently the universe is held together by something unknown. As matter is the only kind of thing we think is real, then we think it must be matter. But we can’t actually see it, so it must be dark. Hence. Dark Matter. The gaps are getting bigger. :alien: :woohoo:  I believe the universe is...

 Do we seriously not have a facepalm icon? Ok, let's tear this apart. "We discovered symmetries in the universe that shouldn't be possible, thus the universe shouldn't exist' What? (Insert Facepalm here) Rather, shouldn't it be... "We discovered symmetries in the universe that by our under...

Re: Kill Daesh Jihadists from Britain says Government

Who get's to decide who lives, and who dies? Based on what criteria? Based on the views/welfare of which nation-state? I gave the criteria. I find you pretty intolerable most of the time, I suppose my killing you would be a service to sentient beings then. I think you would only be scratching a hom...

Re: Kill Daesh Jihadists from Britain says Government

It'll be a feat of serious sophistry to demonstrate that for each and every one of them, sight unseen. Seriously, Malcolm, you do a great deal of good. I hope you reconsider this. Look at what non-Buddhists do in Aarhus, Denmark, the success they've had in rehabilitating former Daesh people. And yo...

Re: Kill Daesh Jihadists from Britain says Government

In countries which do not extrajudicially execute their citizens, these guys get charged with a crime if they are suspected to have committed one and if not, the secret services keep a close eye on them. It is not such a big deal really, given there is a small handful. But on the other hand, execut...

Re: Kill Daesh Jihadists from Britain says Government

There are no reasonable answers. To arrive at one, would require a fundamental change in the way society works. At best you can hope to mitigate the damage. Society is profoundly sick at every fundamental level. Trying to 'fix' a disease by treating it's symptoms, without fixing the root cause never...
