Re: TRUCK FUMP

Something not as much talked about in the "Russian Meddling" in our elections, is how they did it. The end result is much scarier than swaying an election. The real story is the use of advanced artificial intelligence to commit state-sponsored information warfare, and if you think Russia are the onl...

Re: Humanity's decline

While the education system, at least in the USA is in pretty bad shape, if not wholly irrelevant at this point, there have been significant strides towards making education accessible, and available to anyone who desires it. You could almost wholly educate yourself online these days, every single to...

Re: Music time

Probably one of my favorite electro-industrial songs(and bands) ever, it's too bad that youtube doesn't have support for hi-fidelity music, or subwoofer support. Music that makes the house go boom and rumble <3

Re: My new neighbor

Hello again everyone.. someone might remember me from a couple years ago. If not, that's ok. I just moved into a new place the beginning of May(almost a month and a half ago). I'm single and the first day I really connected with the women who lives right next to me, these units are veeery close tog...

Re: Losing track of everything in meditation.

I couldn't say what death is like. Maybe no one can. It may be that there is no such thing, at least not the way we think about it. The meditation I'm familiar with involving the lower dan tien is quite similar to my standard sitting practice, which comes straight out of the suttas/surtas on Ānāpān...

Torpidity It's possible to get some high-quality rest this way however, so I don't want to come down negatively on it. I can occur anywhere during meditation, in a wide variety of psychic or altered states, or simply the normal "consensual state" Sharpen your awareness, it mean you want to go deepe...

Re: Can all beings ever be liberated? The motivation of the bodhisattva.

Can each and every sentient being be liberated? Yes. Will each and every sentient being be liberated? How would an answer to this question lead a person to freedom from suffering? When we ourselves are liberated, all beings are liberated, and it really is true... Non-Duality. Simultaneously, we tak...

That was a bit of cathartic mind dump It was a beautiful spilling of a mind of jewels  It was a heart beating with compassion for the human condition  It was love leaking from a cracked vase patched with gold  I think the only reason i haven't been able to end it for myself is ...

Re: original as misnomer

I often come across references to Original Mind, Nature, etc.in discussions of Buddhism (especially Zen). However, i don't see a lot of intellectual rigor in these discussions; if we break things down, Original is defined as 'inherent' or sometimes indicates a temporal reference, i.e. like a child....

Re: So, Anthony Bourdain...

In my previous mind-dump post, in the process of writing I had a comment about the ideas informing the confrontation with death and how those would tend to determine one's thoughts, words and actions in response. For whatever reason, I guess I edited that out. In any event, if one assumes a materia...

Re: Two months of writing.

I am terrified... My mind has become warped, decayed, and blissfully forgetful of everything I've ever gained, In no more than a brief moment, you can lose everything, everything that means anything to you, like a thief stealing your heart in the middle of the night, I sleep woefully, and vigilantl...

Re: So, Anthony Bourdain...

My point in bringing this up is that Buddhism, at its inception, was an obsession with the meaninglessness and futility of the world, which tends to bring one, sooner or later, to the face of death. Seems to me, its how that confrontation is handled that distinguishes the yogi from the suicide. Mos...

I think you will, too, and also think Khandro Rinpoche would be a wonderful person to visit even just once. I would imagine sangha around her would be able to arrange transportation or help in some way. Hmmm, I will try to find a way to get there, it's about an hour from me. Unfortunately, I used t...

Re: TRUCK FUMP

The kind of thinking behind this thread is pure poison for the thinker. The level of hatred which seems to be acceptable for this guy should really give a practitioner pause for thought. not really. giving in to hatred, and anger is really easy, too easy. In fact it's the normal response, compassio...
