Re: Thien in the US

Hi Jikan, I am a novice at a Vietnamese temple here in FL (Quan Am Temple). There are actually a lot of temples, but many aren't listed. Here in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area there are at least 6 (4 temples and two centers), and one or two in surrounding towns. Usually they are open to anyone, many ...

Na Mô A Di Đà Phật Na Mô Bổn Sư Thích Ca Mâu Ni Phật I was hoping someone could help me identify something from our monastery. I know what is says, I just don't know what kind of script it is... Not quite Siddham, not quite Ranjana. http://i49.tinypic.com/158two.jpg So... who knows what this script ...

Re: Ordination in Nichiren Schools

There is also Rev. Shinkyo Warner here in Tampa, FL. He was working (well still is working with) a Sangha in KY. So I believe there are quite a few now. And of course Rev. Tarabini in Italy, and I know there is a Shami from Brazil training in Japan right now :).

Sukhavativyuha Dharani

Hello everyone, I searched around to make sure this wasn't posted already- hopefully I was correct. I am putting together an English liturgy for our English-speaking dharma group, however I am pulling this together from a Vietnamese liturgy book (I live at a Vietnamese temple). I have a good deal of...

Otaru Debate

Hello all! I have heard reference to the Otaru Debate many times, and I am trying to find some record of what was said during that time (1955, Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan). I was told that it is in Human Revolution, but, with respect, I'm not going to buy it- is there some record someone has of this deba...

Thich Thanh Tu

I have been reading a few books but Thich Thanh Tu, so far they seem to be pretty good and imformative, even if the translation is sometimes awkward.
Has anyone else read works by this Thien master?

Re: Vinaya

Hmm, thank you... I will have to talk to my Master about this. I'm sure he has a copy of the Vinaya, but likely in Vietnamese or Han-Viet (Sino-Vietnamese). I wanted to try and study more so I am fully aware of what I am doing when I Leave Home.

Vinaya

Hello everyone!

I am wondering if anyone knows of any translations of the Vinaya for Mahayana (I think the Dharmaguptaka is the most common...). I have been trying to find something on it for some time now, and I've really come up with nothing.

Thanks :) :anjali:
