Re: Tantric Liberation, Padmasambhava and Bonpos, etc.

I understood the meaning of 'root' in root cause differently from you. For me, Daesh-type acts arose not because of "petroleum based capitalist economies". Why? When jihadists fought the Europeans in the early history of Islam, there were no "petroleum based capitalist economies". "Petroleum based ...

Re: Tantric Liberation, Padmasambhava and Bonpos, etc.

Then I posted the remark below with the purpose of showing that Grigoris' argument was not valid. That's why you posted that piece of nonsense? Well, you failed miserably. The question was about the specific and current situation and so was my answer, I never meant it to be universally applicable. ...

Re: Tantric Liberation, Padmasambhava and Bonpos, etc.

Of course not. How do you even get there from anything I have said? Tibetans were fighting people every bit as bad as Daesh in those days. The Tibetans were fighting to defend the Dharma from extremely wicked people. You really need to read better. Then your reply is out of point to my reply to Gri...

Re: Tantric Liberation, Padmasambhava and Bonpos, etc.

So, you think that the Tibetan fighters should suffer the same recommended fate as Daesh fighters? The Chinese government would certainly love your proposal and might just even borrow your argument. Of course not. How do you even get there from anything I have said? Tibetans were fighting people ev...

Re: Tantric Liberation, Padmasambhava and Bonpos, etc.

That would explain why the Tibetans did not turn themselves into suicide bombers or go on random killing spree after China invade Tibet ... Tibet did not have crude oil and China was not a capitalist economy then. The Tibetans conducted a guerrilla war backed by the CIA until 1969. Few, however, kn...

Re: Tantric Liberation, Padmasambhava and Bonpos, etc.

If I am not mistaken, only a tantric practitioner who is able to resurrect the dead can perform tantric liberation. In other words, a practitioner is qualified to forcefully force a being's consciousness out of their body only when he also has the ability to return the consciousness back to its bod...

Re: Tantric Liberation, Padmasambhava and Bonpos, etc.

.... I was talking about, and am only talking about Daesh fighters. The rest of them need to be interviewed and observed, incarcerated if need be, depending on how committed to this perverted ideology they are. You are assuming that ALL Daesh fighters are hardcore supporters of Daesh ideology. That...

Re: What to do about Daesh? (ISIS, ISIL...)

... My point is that this is about power, not about ideology except insofar as ideology serves power..... I think you just argued against your position. The Daesh ideology is what gives it power. It is what animates Daesh. Diminish the power of that ideology and you will diminish its hold on the mi...

Re: What to do about Daesh? (ISIS, ISIL...)

Abh Bakr al-Baghdadi has a PhD in Islamic studies. This guy is a Muslim who emphasizes the role of (a certain interpretation of) Islam in the role of ISIL which is just as justified as thato fmainstream Islamic jurisprudence: http://www.aymennjawad.org/?switch_site_version=normal The issue is not w...

Re: Kill Daesh Jihadists from Britain says Government

I think an assessment must be made as to how deep the wrong view has taken hold of the person. Those whose view could still be changed should be diverted to an effective and well-thought out rehabilitation and follow-up program. Those whose are assessed as truly hard core have to be separated from t...

Re: Buddhism and Lust, is it ok, not ok, kind of ok?

I think it is important to get one thing straight. In the context of Buddhism, whether something is ok or not ok is referenced only to whether it helps or hinders the liberation of beings (including yourself) from involuntary cycling through various existences. Absolutely, there is a catch, however...

Re: Can buddha nature be proved?

This is maybe not the answer you're looking for... I wasn't looking for any answer. If there is anything I was looking for, it is an on point and well-argued rebuttal of my statement. Yes, I'm interpreting Nagarjuna so we can talk about it.... And I have already explained why that is not an on poin...
