Re: Today I told a lie

:thanks: Thank you RopeNL for reminding us to always proceed important action with clear thought,
in the wish to assure we're not deluding ourselves and others.

It's evident you wish you'd done the same, as I have on occasion.

Re: On Right Livelihood

West of Sac.? Would that be near Clear Lake (coast range) or further south? Pretty rural there, for sure.

Even over here in the north end of the Great Valley, Buddhism is very lean.

Re: What the hell is wrong with people?

"What the hell is wrong with people?" I'd say "Not much" besides a deviant and out-of-control animalistic survival instinct. It's a shame too, because we now have enough control over the environment that we could create a world where everyone can lead a human existence free of th...

You must enter on hands and knees? Doing prostrations or what?

Re: Why did you choose Buddhism?

Hi all. About 3 years ago I had a (my only ever) spiritual experience. Eager to investigate this experience I began to read, starting with C. Yung. Near the time my reading was addressing his views about Buddhism I heard that a Tibetan Lama, by the name of Losang Samten, was coming to our area and I...

Just make sure you do it in a blazing hot sweat lodge to get the maximum benefit.

Could always be worse. And if the dreamer/followers feel benefited and no one is harmed, who are we to condemn?

Re: meditation and vajrayana and also vajrakilaya

I wonder if this is an auspicious time for a seeker to ask a question concerning wrathful deities? I believe I understand part of the power of Vajrakilaya. In fact I had a dream (before learning of Buddhism) in which the crystal puhrba of my mind (at the time I'd have called it "The focus of my...

Re: Knots

And the reason why I take this step is because of my Asperger affected youth. When your entire infancy and childhood are affected so your entire life is a "knot" then I believe it's time to "pull-out-the-big-guns" as we used to say. It's strange to be able to examine a huge part ...

Re: Knots

The "sediment" of a deeply traumatic experience can take a lifetime to dissolve ... or it might never fully dissolve. Which means that it is present -- if unconsciously -- all that time. I just wish there could be a quick fix for when the demons arise ... :stirthepot: I've been reading &q...

Re: Autism

Did you know many agree Albert Einstein had Asberger Syndrome? Did you know others with AS have won Nobel prizes? So much (everything) depends on the understanding, direction, support and love of their family. (I would join with that other mother and try to have that teacher removed very quickly bef...
