Re: Shingon Pilgrimage: The 88 Temples of Shikoku Island

The GOOD news is, we are going there in March!!
Not to do the pilgrimage, but I'm sure we will visit a couple of the temples!

Re: Shingon Esoteric Buddhism: A Handbook for Followers

Hi Matthewmartin Thank you for your reply. I contacted (via email) the Shingon International Institute 5 months or so ago, but they never replied. I take it they still exist? We practice Shingon for a while now and run a Dharma Centre. Our master in Japan recommended the book to show to people who a...

Shingon Esoteric Buddhism: A Handbook for Followers

Hi all :reading:

Does anybody know where I can download (as e-book?) a version of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism: A Handbook for Followers. Adapted from the book by Abbot Yusei Arai

Re: Shingon Temple in UK

Hi Jikan! A Hoodie Monk is somebody who's mission it is to bring Buddhism to the younger generation. It was set-up by Gomyo, a true Shingon Adjari who trained in Koyasan and lives in Japan to bring Buddhists teachings to them by means of extremely clever hip-hop music and street-art. He is very succ...

Re: Shingon Temple in UK

The Gloucester Buddhist Centre on board the SULA Lightship and the Hoodie Monks are excited to announce the start of regular Sangha meetings!! Literally, Sangha means 'community' in its broadest sense. It is a group of like-minded people who discuss Buddhism and how to implement the teachings and t...

Re: Shingon Temple in UK

Just to clarify a line in Tenjo's latest posting: Tenjo did not start the Gloucester Buddhist Centre. It was started by it's current owners Seiho and Seiso on their lightship. Tenjo was a teacher of the Centre for the first couple of months for which we thank him. We wish him all the best with his e...

Re: Shingon Temple in UK

The Gloucester Buddhist Centre was established early 2012 on request of the local community on-board the SULA Lightship in Gloucester Docks in-between Llanthony bridge and the High-Orchard bridge. Over time, the Centre became a safe haven for many people who seek calmness and clarity in their hectic...

Re: Shingon Temple in UK

Dear all Just to clarify: the SULA Lightship in Gloucester and the Gloucester Buddhist Centre have no longer any association with Tenjo Hopwood and his group. The Gloucester Buddhist Centre is supporting anybody who is interested in general Buddhism. However, a new Dharma Centre based on true Shingo...
