I think it was Malcolm who said: "Don't integrate Dharma into your life. Integrate your life into the Dharma." Thought that was pretty good.

They have turned Trungpa into a very successful brand.
Yes, by staying quiet they have turned it into a successful brand.

At the same time they give themselves leeway for similar behavior and create a space where such behavior is accepted. And on the circle goes.

but where does it come from? It was a term CTR connected with Dorje Drollo. It has been since coopted to describe unconventional behavior by realized yogins, as well as by grifters who try to bilk naive aspirants. Re: a silly request

Jesse,

After what you have been through, take care of yourself first. I understand your feelings but you have to be careful. As a reader, I see sooo many red flags in this whole story. Don't let it throw you back to where you were.

Best of luck.

Re: Interconnected - HH Ogyen Trinley Droje

to feel that others’ claims on us undercut our freedom. We experience our relationships as ties that bind us and limit our freedom.
I think many people who start contemplating renunciation have these feelings. Can't imagine people who don't.

Re: The Self-Arisen Vidya Tantra and The Self-Liberated Vidya Tantra A Translation of the Rigpa Rang Shar and Rigpa Rang

The initial draft of the Rangdrol took about three months, finished in Dec 2011, and subsequently, five drafts. The initial draft of the Rangshar took about 6-7 months, that was completed in October 2012. It subsequently went through six drafts. Then, after a hiatus where we worked on Buddhahood (o...

... Did half a Ngondro. Got dissatisfied because my Lama hasn't been to the West in over 3 yrs now. ... Success in most areas of life has a lot to do with persistence. Were it me, irrespective of which lama you eventually follow, I would finish the LN ngondro. There is real value to making a commit...

Whenever I spoke to his former students,I only heard about the karma yoga they did. They rarely saw him and he didn't teach much. He did however had them work quite a bit.

Re: The Tantric Age: A comparison of Shaiva and Buddhist Tantra

I cannot tell you the number of obvious errors I see in PhD dissertations on a regular basis, particularly with respect to Vajrayāna topics. And I could say the same of all those "dharmic" translations of Vajrayana and Dzogchen texts. For instance, there is not a single translation of the Ye-shes b...
