please pray for me

I had bad experiences before but this is really awful, I really try to be good believer hut two people act again at me together, while the one reduces my light, the other lies to me trying to send me wrong imaginary images of myself, I think I know them both, I think the one even threaten me online ...

Re: Spreading Buddhism to weaken armies?

What about heavenly warriors in both Buddhism and Christianity, they are to defend the good and the dharma.

Re: Christian Guilt

At first I only read the original post and no further, because I immediately felt that what you suggested is the solution to this present situation. But I was as yet unaware that there was anyone else in DW like me, both Christian and Buddhist. This is a tremendous relief because I previously felt ...

Re: Christian Guilt

Hi, I'm Christian and Buddhist both, we do not have Buddhist temples around so I go to churches. Also I have something with daoism and shavaism too, but for me daoism is more like philosophy. Anyway, I don't see any contradiction, as I feel them as complementary. For me this is making your life much...

Re: Hacker group Anonymous

I can see some merit in memorizing a few lines of the Koran... There is no such merit, it's self ego serving for the protection of body of person who could rather sacrifice his soul and the dharma, instead of standing for what he believes. Reciting a Buddhist sutra infront of jihadists might have s...

Re: Hacker group Anonymous

Obviously Brussels had proposed today that victims of terrorist attack scream"Allah Akbar!" so that terrorists release them. Are you joking? I ask the question in earnest. According to our media, that's exactly what they suggested. I don't know if such news in prime time is some sort of local joke ...

Re: Combatting extremism

The best way to find the causes is to listen to the Islamists themselves. Osama bin Laden was quite clear about his complaints and aims. See for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beliefs_and_ideology_of_Osama_bin_Laden#Grievances_against_countries Yes, but you've got to remember that bin Laden...

Re: Hacker group Anonymous

As I said what is on question is how are we gonna live with these terrorist attacks. Obviously Brussels had proposed today that victims of terrorist attack scream"Allah Akbar!" so that terrorists release them. Since I am Buddhist and Christian, as I'm both, I don't find this acceptable, not to menti...

Re: Hacker group Anonymous

Sure, Dan, :hi: that's why I say I'm happy nothing is happening because when things peace up we can get back on our average, I'm really not sure this is gonna happen right now, solving this, but at some point it will be, and we would entirely forget about it. And concentrate on practice. What I'm so...

Re: Combatting extremism

Muslims in US are screened before they immigrate and usually highly educated, that's why they are not that big a problem there. In Europe they are far less educated, poorer, and closer in contact with extremist preachers. "The head of the FBI told Senate lawmakers on Wednesday that more than 200 Am...

Re: Combatting extremism

Actually, it is disingenuous to decontextualise the quotes. Very much so indeed. The Islamic world has its own traditions of reading them, and our ignoring these traditions would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Are the Daesh an Islamic phenomenon? Yes, in the sense Crusades are a Chris...

Re: French Immigration Policies

French immigration policies allowed former colonial residents to migrate and form ghettoes where dissent against the government could be fomented. I don't see how you can claim it's not due to their immigration policies. The current refugee policy is separate from the historical immigration policy....

Re: Combatting extremism

You don't grill ox in the center of town daily, plus with chicken you don't have the butcher constantly slicing it in front of you, and honestly, I do have doubts about people who buy such chicken but if you stay longed in front of doner shop, you'll see a lot of cruel faces, I don't even count the ...

Re: Combatting extremism

The Koran, like the Torah (Old Testament) is full of all sorts of very different statements. Over the centuries, both Jews and Muslims did not live by every verse of their scriptures but were a lot more pragmatic. I think we should be careful not to forget history when considering Islam, both as co...

Re: Combatting extremism

Many of the quotes that you cite are quite obviously out of context within the Qur'an; many of them describe actual events in the life of Muhammad and don't make sense outside of this context. Furthermore, they are also outside of the context of the traditions of Islamic scholarship which are the b...

Re: Combatting extremism

It is clear that one thing we definitely should do is reach out more to our fellow citizens who profess Islam, rather than vilify them. We are one country, one humanity. We have to make sure that those who seek to divide us will not succeed. This is not naive and doesn't mean we stop our security a...

Re: Putin saluts Buddhism in Russia

 You don't know what hell is, do you? These are hot/cold places for the souls, not bodies and have nothing to do with the mind "hell", it's literal burning, although some explain it as karma, to me this is the bad energy of a soul being burned, removed, and to me honestly, unlike Buddhism/...
