Re: help

Such a very kind post, Jesse. thank you. this started last time after she did some weird qi gong exercises she copied from a book. she then exhibited unusual abilities like healing, then a voice started talking more and more. it .. I'm not usually superstitious. She was fine, happy, healthy. A voice...

help

we had a period of time when we thought a family member was having issues with spirits. involuntary talking, screaming, stuff out of a movie. over time and with help from monks and the like, as well as medication, she improved. normal for a couple of years. yesterday this started again. talking &quo...

I think it's probably true that your words turned out to inspire clarity, confusion was just the path to getting there. :thanks:

Re: "the Self is real" according to T. Page

Nor can anyone who has not directly experienced the "Self" ...: Thus, if there really were a 'true self', it would be what is already being experienced right now and seeking it would be pointless, like a dog chasing its own tail because you would already be there and in regarding it as so...

Re: Tibetan pujas

I am very sorry to you both for any misunderstandings caused by my posts. Things were indeed so difficult - more than we've ever known. I am very grateful to all of you who have so generously and selflessly helped. And again I am sorry for any words that have caused confusion. Very best wishes to yo...

Re: Study on Telepathy

My old teacher was telepathic - to a strong degree. One finds one cannot stay a skeptic in the face of new 'realities'

PS agree that these are not things to be dwelt on - any siddhis as I understand are not the reason for practice, or else they become another obstacle of practice

Re: Alien & UFOs thread...

Hi bob Thanks for your input here Say BA has had insight into this (but unsustained) does this affect BA's life? The dream is still lived no? All that can be seen is nothing but a dream; And even when we think ourselves awake, We have only wakened in a dream. ~Ghalib "Although there is a truth...

Re: Alien & UFOs thread...

What Bob is saying inasmuch as it has any coherence, is that the three marks only apply to local conditions due to the relative immaturity of humanity. And that in other parts of the universe Dukkha may not apply... Not only in the greater cosmos, but even here, suffering has never happened. In fac...

Re: Tibetan pujas

Thank you so much for elucidating Ivo. Lama Dawa Rinpoche has been very kind in helping, and I believe Kalsang Lama is doing her best to coordinate. I even can't speak for the local contact- perhaps he is most kindly, I really don't know. But I have been stressed and have felt at times like things a...

Re: Tibetan pujas

Thank you for your kind words, Ivo. Unfortunately I do not know who is who in Tibetan Buddhism and as it was a spirit problem a distant friend said Tibetan Lamas might be most qualified..I do not know what is considered mainstream at all..but I used to think I understood the flavour of Dhamma commun...

Re: Tibetan pujas

Han, Sorry to hear about your difficulties. Kalsang Lama lives in the same house in Boudha as Lama Dawa (who, I believe, is currently there). So she should be able to ask Lama Dawa for any clarification necessary. In my experience, Kalsang Lama is entirely trustworthy and very helpful. (BTW, the &q...

Re: Tibetan pujas

I'm sorry you seem to be having a bad experience with some of these people. In my experience, it's better not to send money to anybody unless you know them well, or know somebody that does. There's a lot too much marketplace in modern Buddhism. There's also an old Tibetan saying, "We don't kno...

Re: Tibetan pujas

The second one is easy. It's reciting the Prajna Paramita Hridaya Sutra followed by the dok-pa (reversal) that is commonly appended to that sutra. This is a common reversal ritual for turning back bad circumstances. The first one is something having to do with the Deity, White Umbrella/Dug-kar. My ...

The one on the receipt is simply wrong ie not a number that rings- as you can see above it is a copy of the official number but one out... Does anyone else have one of their receipts ?
