I would look into the different sutta and sutra collections in conjunction with all else, and you might want to keep the eyes peeled for a respectable practitioner of some sort to interact with offline.

PS Why are you looking for this information on New Age Gnostic and Buddhist sites? Why not ask at a Christian Orthodox site? That says something about my previous experience with christianity! I have been thinking of giving up my alcohol-free lifestyle, for the sake of longevity. One glass of red wine per day? Eek. I'll be careful.

CDs yes bye bye. Such an easy place to hide.
I also got rid of a pile of those will-get-to-them-again-one-day books. Hard to do, have not missed them at all. Kept the sutras.
