Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

What are the requirements to be able to read the Precious Vase? I want to use it to get into the preliminaries in a deeper sense. Direct introduction from Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche so in the future, who would be "allowed" to read all these restricted texts? also who imposes the restrictions? it seens ...

Re: The Self-Arisen Vidya Tantra and The Self-Liberated Vidya Tantra A Translation of the Rigpa Rang Shar and Rigpa Rang

Footnote 580 in chapter 40 (The Praise) says that, “The innumerable sentient beings of the six realms of samsara are innate seeds within one’s heart center.” Hmm, that is very interesting. I would like to understand this better. Is this literal or figurative or something else all together? Nice tea...

Re: Flu Season

I don't avoid the flu shot. Fact...Five years ago 40% of the staff at our local hospital avoided the flu shot and at times that winter staffing levels were at a dangerous level due to staff sickness that was flu related. One young nurse of flu died, as did a pregnant mum on the maternity ward. One ...

What is the word for practice?
Also Chogyal Namkhai Norbu has said that "basically, practicing means living without getting distracted." This means our daily behavior and conduct or practice.

"Decisive experience" here translates la zlos. See http://rywiki.tsadra.org/index.php/la_bzla_ba.
Thanks! Do you know how causality was translated?

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

The video has been so bad for the first session on the last couple of days that I can't even tell what practice is being performed (I mean, I know it's Guru Yoga of the White A). But is it the Medium Thun or what? I'd like to know so I can still practice concurrently. Thanks It is the White A of Gu...

རང་བཞིན་ rang bzhin. Literally own face? Does the bzhin here mean face or something else?

I find this a tough one because it is translated as inherent existence and also as the natural state. Is this the same inherent existence the Gelugs very much enjoy smashing to pieces?

chos dbyings mdzod chapter 10 question

Towards the end of chapter 10 we are advised at least three times to "come to a decisive experience of causality." Is this a moment to moment awareness of our unfolding karma? What does "come to a decisive experience of causality" mean to you?

Re: Existence

do the books i read in my dreams exist? nope. you made it up in your mind, in our dreams, we make stuff up )). but when we are awake, (although true "a person paints their world", much like karma), and we read a book, that book exists in what we call phenomenal reality. see "subjective" reality and...

Re: Who is America ?

Malcom, it seems punching nazis is a good way to get yourself shot. So your answer is just to live in fear and let them do what they want? I often wonder what if we let these assholes have there demonstrations or whatever and just stay the hell away? It seems they thrive off the confrontation which...

Re: Who is America ?

How do you guys square it with “Hatred does not cease through hatred at any time. Hatred ceases through love. This is an unalterable law.” Please don't give me the BS that "punching out a Nazi" is done with love and no hatred, that you are a wrathful manifestation of blahblah, that only Hinayanists...
