Re: Great Drikung Phowa

AFAIK,there is no specific empowerment.Just oral transmission accompanied by Amitabha or amitayus empowerment for long-life.So I don’t know how anuyoga samayas would come into place. My teacher never mentioned it though.

Re: Khandroma Khachod Tsering Wangmo

I have neither knowledge nor experience of her. So why bother to post? Because I am soooo tired of jumped-up wannabe gurus with no understanding, no knowledge and claims that are simultaneously wildly overblown and vague to the point of meaningless, that it is a joy to see someone who does not appe...

That’s not a conclusion! Not at all  I still am on the process of investigation.I’m explicitly asking here because there are issues that raise my concern like both of her gur...

... OR one could see it as Shakyamuni Buddha being an ordinary human who happened to become enlightened because He worked hard and followed the correct path. There is no Buddhism where Shakyamuni Buddha is seen as "being an ordinary human who happened to become enlightened". /magnus that is the the...

I,for one, really don’t like the way he deals with the opposite side.Taking moral high ground and even to the extent of demonizing them.I mean ,honestly, there are a whole lot of accomplished Siddhas and masters who happened to ‘eat meat’.Would he also demonize them? But the thing is that him using al...

Leaving buddha by Tenzin Lhakpa

Hi guys, I’m wondering if any of you have read this book.If so,what are your thoughts about it.I’m thinking of buying it just to find out what happened that supposedly dedicated monk. Then again,it might be considered taboo to read such books(slandering the three jewels)? As someone with a pro-Buddhis...

I would like to meet this Lama.
Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche is one of the greatest living masters, so that's a great idea. *Incredibly* kind and very good at teaching all different types of dharma.
That I would agree 100%.

Re: Resources for monastic ordination

There may be some options, but it may be very difficult to find ideal circumstances. Namdroling, which is of the Palyul lineage of Nyingma, seems to be an option. There is information here: http://www.palyul.org/eng_about_monasticvows.htm It is quite clear though that only the very basics are cover...

Re: Resources for monastic ordination

In the West, people take Holy Orders in, for instance, the Catholic Church. As part of that, they typically take vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience. They enter their Order's monastery or nunnery and then the Order provides for their food, lodging, healthcare, retirement, etc. However, that wa...

Resources for monastic ordination

Re: How to raise Wangdu?

I am not sure at your age that increasing wang-thang is all that important. Better to study basic Buddhism (sutras, abhidharma, logic, and the outer preliminaries) and work to on developing renunciation (through long-term contemplation of the outer preliminaries), taking Refuge and developing true,...
