Re: Choosing Yogacara over Madhyamaka

Madhyamikas say that Yogacarins holding on to an ontologically existent mind precludes their realisation of emptiness. So unless it's the trisvabhava system that's drawing you in, there's no reason why you can't hold the Madhyamaka-Yogacara view a la Shantarakshita and get the best of both worlds. A...

Re: Harming spirits

Although nagas might be angry about the destruction of their habitat, why would they take it out on other poor, ignorant fellow victims, such as the people living in the area who are there because of economic necessity? I always gravitate towards these areas, and I try to feel compassion for the pe...

Re: Hell

Yes, I believe it is due to the pain of our gestation and birthing via our womb birth that we do not remember, and due to their miraculous birth that they have greater clarity. The Descent into the Womb Sutra goes over the pains, such as: To the extent the mother moves more or less forcefully, it is...

Where and when did Dzongsar say this?
After the release of Drung, Deu and Bon IIRC. I'll try to get more info.
Ok.
Edit: Necklace of Zi.

Send a message to Yudron to see if she remembers the specifics.

I consider saying that ChNN did more damage to the Nyingma than the Chinese an insult.

Re: The DJKR Topic

Unless if your teacher is Sogyal Rinpoche, (you could take it an an insult) then i'm not sure what you're referring to. Rinpoche didn't "insult" anyone, he actually just reported what someone said about him. I have frankly never heard Rinpoche insult a single teacher, except some harsh language aim...

He's brought it upon himself.

Re: The Tantric Age: A comparison of Shaiva and Buddhist Tantra

True, though I'm not convinced that awareness abiding in non-duality has any reference to being either a single consciousness or one of a multitude. There's an interesting section on Anupaya (No-Means) in Dyczkowski's ' Doctrine of Vibration ', where Abhinava explains:. No-means is the experience o...

Re: The Tantric Age: A comparison of Shaiva and Buddhist Tantra

One thing which seems pertinent to the subject is the apparent difference between the stated endgames. Kashmir Saiva posits a single universal established consciousness, whereas Buddhists posit infinite non-established consciousnesses. As such, their realisations and the fruit of those realisations...
