Re: Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo & Lama Tsultrim Allione: Shambhala's Sakyong Mipham

I am a little surprised at this discussion and several others recently. Vajrayana (including Dzogchen) is not really about finding a nice teacher that can teach you nice things, right? It is about recognising the natural state, decide on that and gain full realisation in the natural self liberation...

This is a practice that you definitely need empowerment and transmission for.
If I recall correctly a previous discussion it was said that you can do this practice even without the lung since it's a confessional one.

I also enjoyed her teachings. But the time in the OP was/is mistaken, it's actually 6 pm EST and 7 pm EDT. I think, a bit confusing hehe.

Magnus, what's the traslation/writing like? Readable?

:? I don't get the Rushens thing, Rinpoche has done Rushens plenty on open webcasts. First day was great though.
Yeah but I think it's because Rinpoche was giving transmission for them. I suspect they don't want people attending who don't already have transmission (like Mantrik mentioned).

Re: Limits to Redemption in Each Tradition?

Pael, And/or practice the shakpa/confession titled Narak Dong-trug Kan-shag (Dredging the Depths of Hell Fulfillment & Confession). It is said that this shakpa can purify all breeches of samaya regardless of how long ago they were committed. So not to worry. However, should try to get the lung if p...

So it looks like the organizers simply got it wrong and confused the Longchen Nyingthig with the Nyingthig Yabzhi.
With the Aspiration prayer too right? It's actually Jigme Lingpa's?

Re: Boundless Vision Tulku Tsolo

What are you talking about? Those texts weren't translated by Dowman. The first was translated by Khenpo Chowang and the second by Tulku Thondup, both were edited by Martin Boord. Unless Tulku Thondup uses megapixel too? The second is 250 pages long, the first 85. But other than browse through them...

Sure but I think that sometimes you need to first treat the symptoms before you're able to treat the cause.
The symptom is not poverty but craving - there's a fix for that. :)
I suppose that depends on how deep you look.

Basically that is correct. You need the lung for the root text at least. As for the Five Nails, I see these two translated commentaries from the other discussion: 1. "Five Nails: Commentary on the Northern Treasures Accumulation Praxis By Tulku Tsurlo": https://www.namsebangdzo.com/Five_Nails_p/220...

So you guys don't go see a doctor when you're ill? You guys just pray to Buddha and you're healed? When you do Dzambhala for wealth, Dzambhala somehow transforms your selfish intention into a pure one?

IMO, such questions as what originated where and who influenced whom are always too simplistic in their very formulation, and can seldom be answered completely satisfactorily. It is interesting and sometimes useful to consider the historical connections between traditions, but in the end the value ...

So, in other words, if I have practices from my other gurus, they have to be in a separate session? That's not terribly efficient, but I will do that if necessary. I was hoping I could just do all of them within a single session, beginning with refuge and ending with dedication of merits. Well all ...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Is this something that is fine for individual practice, but in group practice it should only be Dzogchen Community practices? What if, hypothetic...
