Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

They switched to Ganapuja soon. The Shitro is almost certainly Namcho, I don't recall another one (well there's Changchub Dorje's I guess but in Collective Practices it's Namcho).

Sorry, didn't mean to imply it had just finished, just that now I am going on to Naga Puja, a little reminder in case anyone else fancied doing so.
Haha it's nothing compared to the title of the email for tomorrow's webcast on Norbunet. I thought Rinpoche was back....

Any idea which formal practice we ought to be doing right now?

Edit:

They are doing Shitro in Dzamlinggar right now.
Uhh is that the right thing to do? Any idea what is the reasoning behind it?

Re: Signs from the Dakinis?

I suppose you will know when you attain the realization of greater one taste. You didn't understand the quote correctly. It says "Even though you have attained the realization of greater One Taste", in other words: You can attain the realization of greater one taste but you will not necessarily wil...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

I think it is not that strange that it is considered better in person, simply as a stronger connection may be created, as in any other connection it may be stronger if you meet someone in person than if you talk a little over the internet, in the end it may not matter depending on capacity and dili...

Re: The Retreat Map--from Kongtrul's Retreat Manual

At Chatral Rinpoche's three-year retreat center in Godavari, Nepal, the retreat rooms are all equipped with meditation boxes. So this is not just a Kagyud thing. However, at Godavari, if necessary, you can opt out for a bed. Pero, If you are that attached to sleep, maybe that's the first thing you ...

Re: The Retreat Map--from Kongtrul's Retreat Manual

On Sleep by Dodrupchen Jigme Tenpe Nyima Well, this is one piece of advice I will not be taking to heart, no matter who it comes from. Couldn't disagree more with it. Unless it is not general advice, but meant for someone in long strict retreat (perhaps likely since it's for an ascetic) or someone ...

Re: Sapan on distinctions and diversity

One wonders what Sapan would have made of Konchok Chidu, etc. And Lamdre itself is not immune to charges of Tibetan innovation. What's wrong with Konchok Chidu? The eight chapter tantra in the Konchok Chidu root texts asserts that Padmasambhava's treasure teachings are better than translations from...

Re: Sapan on distinctions and diversity

Sapan's consistent point is to purify corruptions of the dharma by always pointing back to the sutras, sastras and tantras as sources of truth and exposing whatever does not appear in those sources as Tibetan innovations. One wonders what Sapan would have made of Konchok Chidu, etc. And Lamdre itse...

Re: Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo & Lama Tsultrim Allione: Shambhala's Sakyong Mipham

I am a little surprised at this discussion and several others recently. Vajrayana (including Dzogchen) is not really about finding a nice teacher that can teach you nice things, right? It is about recognising the natural state, decide on that and gain full realisation in the natural self liberation...

This is a practice that you definitely need empowerment and transmission for.
If I recall correctly a previous discussion it was said that you can do this practice even without the lung since it's a confessional one.
