Re: Music time

"Classic" is a word that's overused these days but I think this propulsive, driving track really is a classic of electronic dance music.

Re: Music time

Hope they come out with a new album in the next year or two (which would more or less match their historical album production rate). A few gems on each of their albums so far...with this being one.

Re: Corona conspiracy theories

How about we ignore the ignorant, naive, and/or persecution-complex people and simply look at the peer-reviewed science? The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2 SARS-CoV-2 is the seventh coronavirus known to infect humans; SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 can cause severe disease, whereas HKU1, NL63, OC4...

Just heard of these guys though they've been around for awhile. Will definitely be listening to more. This downtempo track presents a great melancholy soundscape.

Re: Music time

A synthwave track that manages to be both soothing and uplifting at the same time. As with all VGM, it makes the strongest impression when combined with the overall experience of the game, namely Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. Re: Is there just one Buddha?

Hello friends, in short, is there individuality in enlightenment? If not, is the individualization of individual "buddhas" simply a skillfull means (thanks kausalya) in the Buddhist Dharma (see Namparnangdze, Mikyododjesempa, Rinchenschangna,Maiyatreya, etc..) created to help our self-cen...

Listening to the Furi OST right now. Not as good as the Hotline Miami soundtracks, but I haven't played this game so that influences impressions.

Re: Cutting hair

It made me wonder, why do monks have a shaven head in many traditions? Does do anything with us psychologically? I'd guess one reason is that hair styles can easily be a basis for conceit, self-aggrandizement, attention-getting, etc. Look at how embarrassed people can get when they start going bald...

Maybe not, but you're a semi-famous person, especially in the Buddhist scene, have written some books, done translations, so if not a "public" person per se, something pretty close where someone might want to write a bio / wikipedia article, amazon.com bio, etc one day, so was curious. I ...

Re: Tantric Liberation, Padmasambhava and Bonpos, etc.

No, liberation is a kind of wrathful phowa, actually. I understand this my dear Malcolm, but what we are actually talking about ('ccept in the case of Guru Rinpoche, maybe) is Military personnel dropping bones from drones on unknown people that look like ISIS members. Now if you consider that "...

Republican Rebellion Against Trump

Republican Senator Corker called the White House an "adult day care center" a few weeks ago and has continued to say things along the same tack. Today, Republican Senator Flake gave a stirring speech (copy-pasted below) announcing that he won't be seeking re-election and condemning Trump. ...

Re: What would Buddha have thought of Mahayana?

Very often people who question the validity of the Mahayana sutras instead uphold the supremacy of the Pali Canon while paradoxically rejecting rebirth/karma. The "Why Secular Buddhism Is Not True" thread is fresh on my mind, so that's where my response came from. Sorry for the tangent! :...
